Apologies if this has been suggested before, but just for fun, I have experimented with buying new ships, selling all of the parts that you can, down grading the others and then selling the ship back to the shipyard, and I found the following:
Sidewinder: $16,886 profit
Hauler: $14,408 profit
Adder: $13,193 profit
Viper: $7,363 profit
Cobra: $4,626 LOSS
FGS: $3,331, 520 LOSS
So the more expensive the ship, the bigger the loss. I would imagine that a cheap ship with a lot of fittings would be the biggest gain. Haven't had the balls to try a Conda . . . . .
