New CG, contribution question

I just noticed a new combat CG up in the Pleiades had started an hour ago. Looking at the stats I'm confused at how 2 contributors have managed to put in nearly 240 mil of bounties so quickly, do the Thargoids pay out loads for each kill? I havent fought any yet since returning to the game.

We've had a number of Thargoid killing CGs during 2.4, it doesn't surprise me that some players have been saving them up to hand in at the next one to come along.

I usually save up my Empire/Federation/Alliance bounties for the same reason.

Saving up bounties for a CG is a risk vs reward activity. You do get some extra credits from the CG tier payments, but you run the risk of losing them all if your ship is destroyed between collecting them and when the next suitable CG comes along.
