New/changed bounty cap in Odyssey?

Was there recently introduced a cap on bounties?

I blew up an Elite NPC Conda yesterday and I definitely saw a bounty pop-up 1.280.000 cr.
When I looked it up in the transactions tab, it was exactly 1.000.000 tho 🤷‍♂️

Reminds me of the 2 million cap which I knew from PvP.

Elite SLF pilot can't be the reason, right? Doesn't add up.

And since when are the pop-up numbers fixed and not 1/4 any more?
 
I had this recently. Definitely capping at 1 mill. To make it worse, my NPC pilot then snatches another 10% when I hand in my claim!

Yea I noticed that too, seems like there is cap, up to 1m per kill. Per NPC kill, lol. Do some npcs was secretly gaining huge bounties then sold it at ebay, so they got capped like that?


I dont use KWS, but I do often bump into npcs with 1m+ bounties on them, but losing few hundreds thousands from each kill... well... that aint is right.

And it was not mentioned by patch notes, so fair guess is yet another bug. Not really game breakin, but kinda annoyin.

I guess some BGS folks probly are happy right now, cuz they always was so vocal that "cap" is neccecary cuz of BGS.


I wonder if PVP cap is affected by this. I aint seen a PVP'er with more than million or two for a while. In fact, since playin oddysey, I aint seen even one with somewhat big bounty.

I always use kws in CZ, seems not affected by cap so far. Is it related to CG mission or simply a plain bounty hunting?

If the bounty is higher than 1 million, it's capped there (noticed only by blowing up a single pirate Anaconda).

You have to check the left hand menu after a kill to notice. See @Sighman's post

I only recently did some kills now that we are forced into Odyssey.

its 2 mil cap in Horizons, this is lame.

my prg sees the log and I made it so it displays a list of each kill in a listbox that shows each bounty for that kill
I did this years ago so I could see who is getting what percentages, along with alarms so I don't go over BGS CAPS.

yet the lovely blue display says stuff like 2.9mil for xxx kill
and people were trying to tell me it pays better in Odyssey...
either they hunt wimp ships or can't do math.

so now I have to work even harder to support my Anarchy faction. real fair.
just keeps kicking the anarchists.

broken bgs loaded with caps and tools with caps.

is it so hard to just have the cap on pvp kills and leave the game as it was, or is the whole idea to make every cmdrs effort as equal as the weakest?

and tbh now that the only option being in 4.0 already removes most interest in BGS
but to do the same to the one thing I truly enjoy, to cap its measly reward is ridiculous.

Bounty hunting and the actual bounties are a BGS tool, they are not a means to making money, never has been either.
it has always been the missions or the BGS itself that was worth doing it for.
money came from missions 50 times more than any amount of kills
which is why it doesn't bother me to put 50mil in BV into a system that is 50% wasted
I waste credits often trying to get bounties, for one reason.

capping a single cmdr's ability to change inf in a system as well as crippling his ability to get that ability to affect inf.

makes the math easier at least. every kill so far has been around 2 to 2.9 mil

any one ever going to consider changes?
did I miss a line somewhere maybe..?

p.s.
every now and then some bounty is totally missing, even the log shows an amount but no name and nothing new in the left panel.
used to be a portion for empire, federation, PF. I only ever see the PF sometimes any more.
probably missed a stream, but either way seems damaged.
