Patch Notes Update New Changes to CQC Matchmaking (24 Sept 2015)

Hello Commanders,


We have rolled out a server side update a short while ago. This server side fix mainly improves the stability and reliability of the matchmaking process. Additionally, this update will improve the matchmaking process for you.


Here's a list of the changes done by our team...


- Matchmaking speed has been increased dramatically. When there are enough players to start a game, this will occur around 15 seconds.
- Back filling has been enabled once more. If there are games in progress with spaces which match your skill, you should find a game within about 10 seconds or so.
- Added some safety net checks when being dropped into particular game types/modes.
- Numerous joining, leaving, and rejoin issues have been fixed.
- Players are refilled into CQC matches when players have dropped out much more quickly. This will accurately remove them from a game and scoreboard, and refill the slot with fresh, ready to fight commanders!
- If a player drops out at the exact time we're about to start a game, the server will now notice this and stop the game from starting until the next time around.
- If a player moves into another game type as we’re about to start a game, we now notice this and stop the game from starting until the next time around.
- Fixed some stale game states (optimizations!).
- Fixed session persistence issues when filling in slots for new match sessions.
 
Are you guys just going to ignore all the Lobby Chat suggestions/requests and add it only after it gets out of beta?

If so, please at least allow us to enable microphones in the FFA DM lobbies.

great, maybe i can try out capture the flag now, haven't managed to get into a single match yet! loving what I have played though..

Can confirm the speediness of the matchmaker in the couple of games I ve been so far today.

Yep just played 3 games in a row, nice and quick. Love the reduced waiting time in between games. I joined mid game on my first try and we had people dropping out at the end of a match in the lobby and then new people joining while we were playing the next match. Just a small test I know, but much smoother :D
 
Bah! You're all teasing me! Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice....... I aint never gonna get fooled again! I'll give it a wee go then but Thursday is my getting drunk and forgetting night. :( Don't shoot me if you see me okay?
 
Much better for me, but something weird is happening that I have not seen before. I get into a game, but I seem to be always behind everyone else and its slower on the load - leader has points, but then the leaders score becomes zero. It feels like I am in a game, but disconnected in some way. Could be I have been backfilled which is fine, but then keep track of the leaders score.

Kilvenny, there are a number of old CQC bug reports about leader's score going to zero, usually combined with the invisible player situation. Known issue, under investigation iirc. I'd search for them for you but am on mobile...

Thanks - new scenario for me - glad its being investigated.
 
Definitely seems quicker to get into matches when I tried earlier.

Even had a go of team deathmatch (which I could never get into before despite waiting over 30mins sometimes)

So all in all a good update. Thanks.
