New Character Models?

I haven't been able to find any mods that change or add the models of the park guests, and there are only about 5 faces that you see over and over again so it'd be awesome if someone capable added more character variations. Does anyone know if such a mod does exist?

There is no single mod available for Planet Coaster. The game isn’t open for modding.

Is it, or is there just nobody taking any effort into modding?

I think it's the latter, because it takes time and effort to learn the game engine, unlike something like Unity which is a Open Source Engine.

Ofcourse everything can be modded after all... But Frontier is active in preventing it. So modding of Planco will be sort of ‘illegal’. What I mean with ‘not open to modding’ is the fact that modding isn’t facilitated by Frontier. Modding games like Cities Skylines for example, is active facilitated by it’s developper, Paradox...

Modding of games like Cities Skylines isn't really that hard, especially when you look at the amount of (terrible) mods available, because it's an Open Source Engine.
And yes, there are many good ones as well. Because those come from better modders.

Even when Paradox wouldn't actively facilitate mods, you'd still get a ton of them. Because of Unity.

The main reason for me I think is why Planco isn't modded, because there are simply no modders interested in modding the game.

Why would modders be interested. I wouldn't spend hours/weeks making a mod if it's immediately shutdown by Frontier (And it's their rights to do so).

There has been a tonne of effort put into modding, but Frontier have made it clear they don't like it, so unfortunately we have to live with that and keep our secrets to ourselves.

But RCT3 could be modded and nobody tried to stop that. The problem with Planet Coaster is that there is currently no way for anyone to make new working rides for the game. And there is no current plans for a new ride dlc an this time. We’re stuck with the rides we have while other games like Parkitect get new ones every month made by modders. They officially support modding.

It's not that there aren't ways to do things with modding - it's that Frontier don't want it, and that has to be respected.

if we add coaster support to the PZ / JWE tools it would be possible. would take a while though, file format specs are different due to it being a much older version of the engine.

Well I suppose the TMTK is a kind of mod, but yeah it sucks that we're not seeing any more ride packs any time soon.

It would make sense for them to release some new DLC once the console edition is released and milk the current game for another year or so until PC2 comes out, fingers crossed anyway.
