New CMDR and most missions are already worthless

I started a new career with a second licence last week.
Thanks to the new exploration tools and reward I could afford an Exploration Cobra and collect 10 milion credits in less than 10 hours (no road to riches, just random systems).

After that I maxed my reputation with a faction in boom state but it's a bit of a shame to see that most missions are already worthless for an almost brand new commander.
At this point I'm already discarding all missions with a reward lower than 300k credits.

The problem is that even if there are 8 factions I can't find more than 6 missions with a decent reward and this includes all type of missions: combat, illegal, transport and scan. On top a couple of factions offer mostly Credits Donation missions.
I'm with a type-6 now so I'm only doing scan and transport missions and with this requirement I can't find more than 2 missions per server tick.

The minimum rewarding missions need definitely an adjustement.

Rep, influence and rank all effect missions.

So you may be in a BOOM system with high rep and a faction influencing everything but if you're Harmless you're going to get very limited combat related missions for example.

I used a Type 6 on my second (Xbox) account to go to Robigo Mines and get sightseeing passenger missions to Sirius Atmospherics... fastest money grab currently in the game. Even with a single mission server is quite good.

The minimum rewarding missions need definitely an adjustement.

A. Either wait for the BGS to sort itself out

B. Move somewhere where the missions are not pants.

Am helping a friend get back into ED, he is very low ranked with almost zero experience, managed to find him a nice spot for freight haulage despite the BGS reset.

Besides, any noob can pick up a Keelback and make a 100 mill in a days work doing deep core mining, as long as they follow mining guides.

High tech systems are often in boom state in general.
Sol system is constantly in boom.

My understanding of the OP is that exploration now pays way too much for a starting CMDR. Before 3.3 it required a fairly expensive scanner (ADS) to get the best possible rewards, now the built-in equipment in a basic sidewinder is enough to generate millions just from jumping through some systems with high value planets and honking.

The (lack of) balance in payments destroyed the early game long ago. Each new update only makes it worse. I'm not certain what could be done now as many people seem to constantly want higher and faster rewards.
So I stopped even worrying about Cr long ago and simply play as I wish, if I do missions it's what they achieve, not what they reward. If I want to stay in a sidewinder, then that's what I do.
For me the game is poorer for the direction it's gone in, but I was always wanting it to be harder than it is, which I recognise is a minority viewpoint. I try to make the game work for me (as best I can), as demanding it fits to my wishes would be the path to madness.

You’re an experienced cmdr starting a second account. That’s a very very different situation to a new cmdr. You already have the most valuable assets in the game; skill, knowledge and experience.

By virtue of the above, you’re effectively skipping ahead massively. I don’t really think it’s fair to ask for the game to be adjusted to suit people who are in that circumstance. (I say that as someone who is in that situation with regard to other accounts.)

Sol is neither in Boom or a High Tech system. Boom state has little to do with the economy type anyway.

As previously mentioned, no point discussing mission payouts or anything BGS related, it will take weeks (probably months) for the BGS to sort itself out across all the systems that have cmdr traffic.

Really can't rep you enough for this.

It's very true as a brand new player, (not a reset commander) you don't know the controls how things work, how to maximise profits, how the game mechanics work.
That will have a direct bearing on how many credits you make, the silly mistakes, set backs when you crash your ship by boosting into the wall of the station.

I had a friend start playing about a year ago now, i refused to help them with credits until they had learnt how to fly their ship and learned the basics about how the game works.

Their progression was slow, as they learnt the game, once they had got the hang of things, I dumped 10 tonnes of Painite for them to sell, (they actually only got 7 cos they destroyed 3 while trying to scoop, they said sorry for destroying them, to which my reply was It's your money!!!)

Once that was done they had the money to buy the bigger ship i think they went for the cobra, with the knowledge they had gained they were in an anaconda in less than 2 weeks.

The limitation of the sidewinder is a great help / progression block, to new players which needs to be there, it really helps them learn the game gently.

It goes to show that you can quickly progress once you know what your doing, i dont think thats a bad thing for older players, if you really don't want it to be like that you can always put yourself in a self policed Iron Man mode

This, exactly. The experience for an actual new player is completely different.

Maybe the issue is that the only thing a new player needs to learn these days is how to "honk" whenever entering a new star system, and they will earn hundreds of thousands for a single button press.

To be fair, you need to travel 20 Ly to sell the data which is not trivial in a stock Sidewinder, but still. This kind of income is way above anything else a starting CMDR can do to earn money (without someone else's help), and requires very little skill.
