The X55 is too beast for me. I can't imagine how efficient it'll be once you master it though!!

I was a pretty good pilot with just mouse and keyboard but now I am just a drunk person behind the wheel till I get used to these controls... I really wish i could get this little mouse nipple thing working for headlook....but the saitek software is crap and nothing but problems.

If you have a smartphone, three rubber bands and a pair of headphones, you can use Opentrack instead of the (horribly unreliable) mouse nipple.

My next little project is to get it working with a Wiimote so I don't have to strap a phone to my head.

What exactly is your problem with the X55? I have the same system... My nipple isn't working eigher (that sound soooo wrong XD) But with te rest of it.. i don't have any issues. But i remapped a lot of stuff.. My thristers are controled at the lower thumb HAT on the hotas, The opper one is used for subsystem selection and nothing else (I'm afarid of hitting the wrong direction once in a while.

I have set a toggle button to enable headlook and use the left HAT on the stick to do that... I'm faster in the menus with UI-mode anyway (default is pinky on stick + lower right HAT)
