Newcomer / Intro New Commander question

Greetings Commanders,

I have a commander created over two years ago that never advanced out of the tutorials, so know experience or items. I just watched a Youtube video that indicates new commanders can now start the game live in a small set of "grief free" Federation District. When I tried to take this older commander live those systems do not exist. Do I need to euthanize my original pilot and create a new one to have access to those 'starter' systems?

I scrubbed my commander when I came back to the game after a 5 year break, and started in Dromi. I had started elsewhere when I first played in 2014

So I have Horizons, is Dromi no longer an optional starting point?

Matet (Coelho Station) is the new commander starting point, I don't know why they changed it from Dromi. (Makes no difference if you have Horizons or not.)

In the old system, you could choose between a surface base (if you had Horizons) in Asellus Primus with an SRV fitted or in LHS 3447 without.

Gah yes... I started in Dromi first time around... Coelho the second time around!

You will start in the Dromi, Matet, Otegine, Orna and Sharur area.
If you want to remain in this starter area for a while, remember that once you leave this area and land anywhere outside these systems, you can't go back anymore.
