New Community Goal at Wolf 406: Lakon Diamondback Ship Production

The Wolf 406 community has been having quite the uproar lately after these news hit GalNet.

AEDC is excited to announce a new local community goal at Wolf 406.

Wolf 406 Transport & Co., the trading arm of AEDC, has secured a contract with the Alliance Navy. The contract is about supplying and provisioning of Alliance Navy Forces in the Lave Cluster.
Commanders are needed to sell metals at Hamilton Gateway in order to retrofit the station for large scale production of the Lakon Diamondback. This is an exciting event that we wish to share with the entire ED community.

Edit: Endless supplies profitable route for the credit hungry: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showth...=1#post2251264

I really really hope they've already finished and tested it and will release it early as a "sorry" for delaying 1.3 (not that they need to apologise for that).

Edit: Yeah, may be a discount, may just be flavour text for them being the first system to sell the ship when it's released. who knows :)

Oh dear, the diamondback looks a cross between a dropship, a lacon 9 and some bricks...I really hope it flies better

I like it.

That ship would cost you $100 on Star Citizen :p

Seriously though, I hope it has some 'uniqueness' about it. I've heard it could be used as a heavily armed exploration vessel... makes sense having one of those in-game once Thargoids are out there. The days of traveling beyond the frontier without adequate protection are coming to an end.

Also - probably not a good idea to launch another CG with the servers being this flaky.

The event started before the servers becoming unstable and, regardless of that and based on my understanding, the planning of these goals predates any random ups and down by a considerable amount of time.

It is right between Lave and Alioth and a few stops away from Sol. Very close for anything except Empire citizens.
Excellent....just the question I was going to ask....Thanks ''Apos''...have some rep.
Yea I like the idea, especially if there was a ''possibility'' of a ''cough''...slight discount for top tier tradesmen for the venture......Now if only I could actually play the game...grrrr.....still, I did record the World Touring Cars at the proper 13 mile Nurburgring earlier.....Don't make me do it FD...I don't want to watch TV.
Is there space to bring big ships like the Anaconda's to the Wolf party please lads, large stations yea not orbitals...?
Oh and Yes the Diamond-Back is touted as an Armed/Explorer, that is the exact wording FD used in the newsletter chaps, so yes, guns on long trips now too, now why would you need guns to explore.....''as he mutters something and scratches his bald head''...well I am sure there was another thought but it has gone now...drat.....double drat.

Thx for sharing! I will pause my criminal hunting at 78 ursae and head over to wolf 406 to help the Alliance with this special trading CG

Do you have any suggestions where to buy metal (20-30LY; Anaconda, large pad), or have the best routes already dried up?

Cupinook, the system right next to us, has 2 big stations both below 20 LS of drop point with an almost endless supply of metals.

Export profit isn't much but there's a high chance it will be increase come tomorrow if the station is reverted to its high tech status. (there was some error in the setting up and it currently functions as industrial,it will be looked at soon as FD are back into office) Import profit is good.

Cupinook is the steady average and will take a lot of time to dry up all 3 of their stations. They are all wealthy and have huge productions.

I personally only deal in amount instead of profit, but from what I gather there are still systems around that will give big profits, although their supply is more limited, yet not dried up yet.

Thank you a bunch ''Apos''. I was bored of my usual route and need a change of stars....:D Good to know that the conda can come instead of the nice and nimble Python too. I was not expecting the prices to be that good, especially both ways after doing the Yembo metals deal a little while ago. But the reward might be not the discount itself for the Diamond-Back but the ''Stations'' discount for maybe 10% off the ship after and if the target is met maybe...? What do you think chaps..?

As far as Pythons are concerned, Cupinook has 2 outposts, both 180 LS away, that also have huge supplies and quite good profits due to lower supplies exhaustion.

Oh my. My, oh my oh my. Sounds like some delightful hunting opportunities. The Alliance will never get this contract, for I bask in the glory of the Emperor.

I ask all Loyal Imperial Subject to fly to Wolf 406 and let's stop the Alliance from getting this goal!

We all shall bask in his glory!

Ha ha, nothing will protect us from the Thargoids! Although in some ways, maybe some things are better left back in the eighties - Roland Rat for one ;)
