New DK2 question and general computer question

So this game inspired me to grab a dk2, ive never heard of vr like this before but i love me some immersion.

My question is since i doubt my current setup can run this well what would you sigguest to improve things?
I have just now:
Cpu:i74970 at 4.0ghz
8gb ram
Nvidia quatro gpu (here in lies the problem me thinks)

I have the option to grab an r9 280x card for 150$ just now, but will it run everything on this game? Or should i get on the green team for this game?

Also what kind of power draw can i expect from the r9 280x?

Honestly, the main reason to have a monster video card to run this in Rift is in stations. If you can accept choppiness there, flying and combat is pretty smooth with lower end hardware.
