Hardware & Technical New dual-hdd 17" laptop under $1200 (GBP 710)?

Hi,

Can someone recommend me a new laptop with these characteristics:

- 17" anti-glare screen
- Needs to have 2 HDDs option (I'd buy one SSD and put it as a system disk)
- Needs to be compatible with Win7
- under $1200 (GBP 710)

It would be used for general purposes, nothing special (no gaming, rendering, etc.). Office, internet, mail, etc.
It's for my friend, but I wasn't able to recommend him anything.

Please bear in mind that American-oriented models are highly unlikely to be available in my country (EU preferred).

Thanks

I will recommend you look at a place like Novatech. They have a lot of gear and are an established international company with a reputation to maintain.

There are others, but be careful with chain stores.

That aside, may I make a suggestion?

The only real difficulty you have here is two 2 HDDs

HDDs these days are generally SSD, simply because they are fast. I have two myself. They are very fast indeed.

Get an SSD and a separate one for the USB port. USB 3 is fast.

There are twin drive options but making that conditional will limit your choices. You may find one you like, but then again, not.

Addition:

This one is within your price range has an INTEL I7 4712MQ processor, 16Gb RAM, nVidia 825M 1GB Graphics and can be customized to your own specs.

Thanks for the suggestion, but most reviews about Novatech aren't that bright (mainly criticizing poor display and build quality), so I think I'll skip that and hold on to brand-names.

External HDD is a good advice, I told him about it.

Thanks!
