New Explorer - anything undiscovered?

...ah, I bet you thought I meant just 'any system undiscovered', but in fact, what I mean is - is there any object type, or other phenomena, that hasn't been found or seen yet.

Obviously, that sounds a bit odd, because if there were, how would you know about it! But is there anything the devs have said is 'in game', but hasn't been found by anyone yet. Personally, I'm hoping for globular clusters, but I've seen no evidence of them yet...

Yes according to Braben there is a none celestial object somewhere out there to be discover.
It probably a place called Raxxla (there enough hints in the game missions and Micheal have confirmed that this is or will be in the game) and it probably involves the UA, which haven't yet been cracked.

Well, I was surprised in getting an "unknown contact" about 2000 LY out, after having seen nothing for two weeks. Turned out to be an NPC Sidewinder, JStuart, sauntering through deep space on auto pilot. kind of eerie.

Yes - Wormholes.

I don't know if they are in game, ever will be in game, or should be in game. But so far no one has reported encountering what would seem to be a logical extension of the probable universe within Elite.

If there were too many, it would make long range jump travel / limits irrelevant, but having a few found would be really cool.

There should be no NPC's at that distance. This is beyond eerie...is almost impossible!! Sure you were 2k ly out? Sure it was an NPC? Sure it wasn't something else? Maybe a certain jockey on a collision course to a far forgotten planet? hmm....

Sadly wormholes are nothing but conjecture - you won't see any ingame.
That would be cool though...

So are FSDs and super cruise at many multiples of C.

Didn't stop FD from implementing them as probable tech, so seems just as plausible theorized wormholes have been discovered and means to utilize.

Yes, a little over 2k out. Circled him a couple of times, kind of spooky. With 2 weeks of exploration data in the hold I thought I'd leave well enough alone, lest it be a sick trap :)

What I was told when I thought it odd finding NPCs hundreds of light years out from the bubble, 461 LY in my case, was that random NPC spawns based on location scenarios have no distance factors.

e.g. I dropped in on a ring belt to take in the view, and the game generated random NPCs in that ring belt because that is one of the location based scenarios that NPCs are spawned for - regardless where that system is in relation to the bubble.

I haven't seen an NPC in SC space after I got that far out, but always in ring belts and asteroids, yes.

Yeah, there are billions of systems, its going to take some time before every thing is explored. Depending on which FD quote its either 200 or 400 billion. (400 billion on this very forum)

Hint, go up and down instead of left and right.

I would like to find Voyager 1, although even by 3301 it would still be somewhere very close to Sol in the bubble.

Was headed towards star AC 79 3888 only 17.6 LY away, at speed eta 40k years - so I suppose it wouldn't be a great exploration feat to go find it since it'd be barely half of one LY away from Sol.

No point exploring, McDonalds have Golden Arches already on all civilized systems, and KFC have their own explorer fleet out now, scouting for anything that tastes like chicken...
