New Explorer - anything undiscovered?

DB has confirmed there are thus far undiscovered features to be found, as is covered by this thread- https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=140061
No, he did not. All he said was that there were non-celesital things to discover in deep space. Although it seems to have disappeared now (maybe on purpose, maybe bug, how can we tell?) the Voyager craft was in deep space and a non-celestial object so fully satisfies the statement, even though everyone and his dog had 'discovered' them. People read a lot more into his words but that may have just been because we want there to be more. As far as I'm aware, no one from FDev has actually said there is more to discover than we have already discovered many times over.

Check post four in the thread I linked. Though I too can't find the original thread, I remember following it and seeing this post by DB. Seems pretty explicit to me...

He confirmed somewhere else he wasn't talking about the Voyager probes.

Theres still plenty to discover out there

I had a quick trip out to the Orion nebula and around Bernard's loop, and still found some unexplored systems.... including one where someone scanned the star and nothing else.......... missing 2 TC worlds and a water world

But then it could be we scan the right system and get a mysterious message that appears to be a distress call from small world... upon landing and investigating the computer changes its mind and say that is a stay away message.. by then its too late......

Thanks, and I found it: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=140032&page=21&p=2145439&#post2145439 which if you follow back the quote links takes you to the original "there already are" quote https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=140032&page=18&p=2145360#post2145360

TBH though I'm still not sure what the point of this is. If it's just a needle in a haystack search then that's a great way to annoy people. OTOH if it's a logic puzzle then given that many intelligent people have been looking for this sort of thing via the UA threads then it reminds me very much of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masquerade_(book)

Yeah, though there's a lot of star systems a long way from human space that are locked by a permit requirement. I suspect these are the most likely homes of hidden content, squirreled away for future storylines.

There's some dead ships floating around waaaay outside the bubble too. Found a WSS one day about 1,500ly out, and this was in it:

The poor guy dumped Military Plans all over the place when he died too. Makes me kinda wonder...were they plans for dealing with the Thargoids? Unfortunately, I couldn't grab anything, since my DBX has no cargo capacity (I dumped my hold in favor of a nice large auto repair module, just in case of emergencies).

I would like to find Voyager 1, although even by 3301 it would still be somewhere very close to Sol in the bubble.

Was headed towards star AC 79 3888 only 17.6 LY away, at speed eta 40k years - so I suppose it wouldn't be a great exploration feat to go find it since it'd be barely half of one LY away from Sol.

Have you looked? :)

I think most, if not all, of the remote individual permit systems have been opened up. I did a tour of the nebulae to the "south" of Sol (Pleides, Orion cluster, Jellyfish, Monkey Head, Heart & Soul, Bubble, etc) in January and most of them had a few permit systems but the permits seems to have been cleared since then. There are still several restricted sectors (Regor, Bovomit, Hyponia and a couple of others I think). Each of those is bigger than the human bubble so easily could contain a whole civilisation each. But since they can't be visited it wouldn't be fair to say that there are things to be discovered there now, they are just future possibilities.

Mmhmm. Polaris is the one I really want in to. Even though that one's probably Thargoid related, and I must be one of the few players that would actually prefer it if the Thargoids were left out of the game.

...ah, I bet you thought I meant just 'any system undiscovered', but in fact, what I mean is - is there any object type, or other phenomena, that hasn't been found or seen yet.

Obviously, that sounds a bit odd, because if there were, how would you know about it! But is there anything the devs have said is 'in game', but hasn't been found by anyone yet. Personally, I'm hoping for globular clusters, but I've seen no evidence of them yet...[/QUOTE

I am still searching for the trumble homeworld.
