I'm kind of dumb so can someone explain to me how these are different from the Hazard kits?

And the paints. The paints are different.
I guess that is something. I've sprung for every ship kit in the game but I'm finding it difficult to justify purchasing this one.
And the colours on the ship kit parts - they seem to be different as well.
Looks like the headlights are different colours, wow!
If you have the Hazard kits then these may not appeal as they are very similar, however the Suttle differences do matter.
My core mining Krait has the Hazard bumper with bright white lights for those dark asteroids, my Titan Krait now has softer lights for more stealthy operations.
Will the new kits replace the Hazard kits on my other ships? probably not, but is choice good? Yep.

Glad to see this confirmed. I thought I was going insane. Bedridden with the 'rona, I could only access the Newsletter on a tablet so I thought I must be missing something with the restricted interface. But I've just checked in the game client and yep, the Extraction parts are identical to the Hazard parts except for the lights and the paints that I never use anyway.

I don't recall seeing similar complaints for odyssey suit reskins, is it because less people care about those cosmetics?
My main complaint is that the ship main lights don't seem to change color with the shipkit, but I haven't seen/tested myself how the actual headlights look from the cockpit.

Maybe. To me there's quite a difference between outfit recolours, which at least keep the base outfit name, and ship kits that are more or less identical but have been given a different name. If the Extraction kits had been called something like Hazard Sodium to make it explicit that they're reskins, in the same way that e.g. Vintage Reflect is a reskin of Vintage Intrepid, it might not have felt quite so cynical. This just feels "off" to me. Some of the ship kits already have parts that are quite similar to other kits, but this feels different.
Mileages, obviously.
On the other hand for anyone who already owns Hazard but really likes the Extraction skins it's a no-brainer; buy it for the skins and get an alternative light colour thrown in for good measure. But if your primary goal is to have an interesting mixture of sticky-out bits on your ship, as mine is, this "new" kit is barely new at all. I suppose it offers a choice for those who've yet to buy either.

Has anyone actually bought one of those kits? I can't find a screenshot of how the different color lights look in game when pointed at stuff, ideally from multiple ranges.
