Very interesting new research:

This suggests there maybe a maximum size to the nucleus, and hints there may be a new form of matter that is potenially a new energy souce, and that they might start looking for it in neutron stars (this is the tenous astronomy link ).

Hmmmmm .... I like this idea, quark matter without strange quarks. The thought of producing energy by feeding neutrons or ions to quark matter thus the absorption actually reducing the mass and producing energy would be fantastic.
