New GalNet article - Are you kidding me Frontier?

So QA is there... but only in spirit?
That would be physically there but spiritually and/or mentally elsewhere.

We are all only human, none of us are perfect, and QA are human beings despite any urban myths to the contrary. ;)

Nah, what I meant was that only the spirit of QA would be in the room (you know, as expressed in poetic terms), while in practice none of it would be detectable in any scientifically proven fashion.

Pretty rude.

I mean what do you want QA to do about this anyway, copy and paste the existing bug report so it's reported twice?
QA and Engineering are typically not the root cause of things being released - management in general is.

That is not to say management is completely at fault, but they are the ones who ultimately make the decisions as to what is or is not done. Either directly by prioritising tasks, or indirectly by restricting funding and/or time spent.

You forgot to add the word 'vision' in your claim.

What has vision got to do with it?

As for it being a claim, it is a sad fact of commercial software development - there are limits to what can or can not be done in a given time frame. There are cases of poor performing staff but it becomes a management issue to ensure they perform with an appropriate level of competency. Ultimately, finances typically dictate how much time is spent on any given task - that includes testing.

In other words: While they have already our money they´re eglible to deliver bullpoo? Or what are you trying to say?

What I am saying is that you can not reasonably blame just one department for errors during delivery and allotting blame is mostly a fool's game. However, if you feel the need to blame anyone - blame those in charge.

As for this specific case, I am sure FD are aware of it and it will be addressed in due course. Only an idiot would push for fixes at a faster rate than it makes sense to deliver, that way only leads to more errors (and insanity).

I had hopes for Beyond, but especially the latest 2 really dumb design errors (respawning skimmers and mission rewards) give me a slightly different feeling about it. That means to me that nobody at Frontier plays their own game or has any deeper knowledge about it. It feels like they changed the whole team and that there are players out there who know more about the game then the guys who are responsible for it. As I said, thats my opinion.

Sorry, already have your money?

Frontier gave the 3.0 update away gratis, they currently make income through cosmetic sales.

well,
QA failed with that whole ram tah guardian storyline thingy.

1. beyond was released with tech brokers offering 3 guardian techs from day one, together with the synthesis recipes listed in all shipcomputers
2. they release a galnet article after the first player solves the new mission from ram tah, telling that he is developing new weapons and will soon send them to tech brokers for distribution
3. they make a forum post about price correction for all that stuff we will get from the guardian storyline, even more stuff we should not know about yet.
4. guardian powerplants - that according the story line should not even have, are accidentally moddable... creating even more confusion
5. bugs with the mission

6. flechete turret version can be unlocked, but is not seeded on any market.
7. wing missions are total fail implementation...
