New GPU; Frame Rate Issue in Game.

I just changed out my GPU (7900XT to 9070 XT) and am experiencing a bit of a strange situation in Elite Dangerous.

To see how much grunt the new GPU has I deleted the game graphics settings files and checked / modified game settings to disable vsync and ensure that no frame rate limitts were in place. Doing so lets the FPS significantly exceed 60 when I start the game, select a mode, "wake up" in the game sitting in my ship on my Carrier - until I launch from my Carrier - at which point the FPS drops to a steady 60 and won't budge. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've been through the AMD settings app app to ensure that no frame rate capping is in place, have performed factory reset a couple of times and used the AMD Cleanup Utility - to no avail.

The issue seems to be limited to Elite Dangerous.

I've had something but not exactly the same started happening yesterday, I keep getting these random occasion when in supercruise the game will stutter and the frame rates will drop by thirty or so then jump back up a minute or so later. This doesn't happen on planets or in ports runs as smooth as butter, as said this only started happening yesterday 🤔

ED also has a frame limit function. Did you double check it?

You are obviously still capped at 60 hz

I did indeed - after deleting all graphics setttings for the game.

Noticed that it has happened again - and if I switch from borderless (was at 60 FPS) to fullscreen (sits around 210 FPS) then back to borderless again the FPS stays high. o_O

I have been experiencing the same exact thing on a 4080, ever since the weekly maintenance finished on Thursday morning. It is VERY annoying, it doesn't seem to matter what my graphical settings are.

As I remember it the game used to drop to 30FPS if not in focus, i.e. if alt-tabbed out to another app. Not sure when that stopped though.
