Horizons New guns for NPC?

I was interdicted by an NPC and I was on the receiving end of an impulse attack [sour]
Anybody know what this is?

Same interdiction, I got to the port but as I got near it, I took gun damage of some sort and all guns down, heat sink down, radar down. What the????
Has anybody had their radar down from an attack?

I could not hail the port I was about 200 metres from the port but the message I got from contacts was "No contacts in range"
I could lean out the window and yell "Hey, let me in" but it seems like a stupid mechanic that says if your radar is down you don't exist. [sour][down]

Comment please.

A post mentioned that if you didn't get the last shot to destroy an enemy you didn't get the bounty.
Today a Fer de Lance attacked then tracked me to station. I turned around to check the radar signals. He was there. I deployed. Got fined. He fired once at me and turned red.
He took of to 6.5 k away and the feds took him out. I was firing towards him and got a 155,000 cr claim. I don't think my beams would have reached that far so I think there is an intermittent difference in what happens. Just sayin'

I know that with the new update the damage to your ship is much more... robust? I haven't had this happen, though.

I believe Impulse attack is an attack using railguns. And with so many modules affected this seems to make sense as railgun projectiles do pass all the way through hulls taking out any modules along the way. If you were that close to the port the only thing you may have done was to hunker down and tried to reboot modules and then asked for landing permission. Did you happen to notice the extent of your module damage? If not I understand, especially in the heat of battle!

I didn't notice the extent of damage, but in the right hand screen a number of modules were damaged.
I didn't think to assess the % but I went straight to the end of that screen to do a reboot.
The Aspx went through it's thing and all was good.

I must comment that all the interdicters were master or elite for today and yesterday.
The non-attackers doing landings were the usual mix of low grade to high grade pilots.
The NPCs are definitely skewed to overpowered considering I'm only competent.

Not exactly sure what constitutes an impulse attack, although I've had a few... Could be railguns, but I was under the impression that they generated a thermal attack warning (as do plasma accelerators).

If something knocks out a lot of your modules it's possible it's a missile attack, as I believe they now do random damage to modules.

In combat with NPC's you do not need to make the kill shot to get the bounty. Pretty much if you hit the target within the last 10 or so seconds before it pops you will get the credit for the kill.

If you are getting attacked by NPCs way above your rank, there are two possible reasons. Firstly you have taken a mission with a high rank, which will spawn appropriately ranked NPCs as opponents. Secondly, if you have engineering commodities in your ship (as cargo), in my experience the NPCs that interdict you for that cargo are generally Deadly or Elite.

Pretty much.
Except for the missiles. There were no missiles in the attack this time.
I was sure of that.
