Hey guys Ive put many hours into this game and I feel like there is little encouragement to positive player interaction which, if taken a look at, might help root out some gripes people have.
One suggestion I have is to make a group finder/raid finder for missions, which would require reworking/creating new mission types. if you made missions where 4-8 cmdrs were required, it might create more immersion and increase certain individual's enjoyment factor of the game. for example, create roles cmdrs can sign up for within certain missions such as escort missions: have a player pilot who enjoys space trucking sign up as the transport vessel with other combat oriented players signing up as their escort. or a group of 12 pilots are needed to tilt a sector's warzone in favor of a certain faction. for this you could have combat roles such as a requirement for the number of different size ships (6 small, 4 med, 2 large for example). and with the new multicrew, i could only seeing this creating amazing moments for players who complain about lack of immersion within the galaxy.
one problem i could forsee is if the multiplayer missions were located station-side there might be an intensive waiting time to finding the right numbers of players for a missions. to curb this, maybe create a specific site within the "galnet" that you could access easily from your ship. this could act as the station "mission givers", but would be available to every player from the get-go no matter their location. you guys did an instant-teleport thing with the multicrew and that could also work here perhaps to ensure people arent waiting/leaving groups etc to start a missions.
this game has the recipe for an all-around amazing experience for anyone interested in a space game; the formula however has not been "perfected". i feel like a mission style that encourages group play beyond just playing in multicrew (and would really add to multicrew) is one small answer for this.
