New launcher

Been at least a year since I last played the game but have been trying to keep the game up-to-date. However, since installing the newest launcher (1.7.6926.10 FD) there is an issue. The ‘Versions’ tab states I have nothing installed, yet I know Horizons is!

Why is this the case? If I install Horizons again, am I going to end up with having two of the same installed?

Any advice would be appreciated

Did you install the new launcher version to the same directory that contains the existing launcher, with the Products folder containing the game?

To be honest, I never checked as assumed they had a competent programmer who would at least check Windows registry for installed versions before installing. So to answer to your question is 'no'.

So do I now have to uninstall the launcher to get it to work again?

If you've found the location where the Products folder containing the game is then re-install the new launcher to that same directory.

Well, I know the location where Horizons is installed but the launcher clearly doesn't. How on earth do I now get the launcher to know where the game is installed without deleting everything and start from scratch? The 'manage' button is greyed out so there is no obvious way of going forward. To be honest. if I'm going to be forced to reinstall the whole game then I'll just delete everything and walk away.

You can move / copy the Products folder containing the game to the directory where the new launcher is installed - the new launcher should see it then.

Thanks for the reply. Will try and find out where the launcher is installed and copy the game to that directory. If that fails I have come to the point where I will uninstall the whole game.
