new location type checkpoint ?

Hi,

just encountered a new location type called checkpoint.
havent seen it before... couple of navy ships in it telling me that they secure dominance always...

anyone know what these are about ?

they were in before the latest patch so they are not really new, but sorry I couldn't tell you what they are as I dont know

I've only encountered them at Jera, there was a brief war with conflict zones. I went to the checkpoint but nothing seemed to be happening there so I'm still not sure if they're just scenery or not.

Yes, they've been here a while. They're present when there's a particular kind of faction state in the system, "lockdown" I think.
