CQC New maps, and possible Surface battles

Hi

Now arena is a stand alone product I am guessing new content will start to come thick and fast. Do you have any ETA on the next batch of maps, and if so, will any be surface related.

If so, will this content be gated to Arena and horizon owners or will even core game players be able to get a taste of surface play?

I would like to know this as well.
They sure know how to get pll confused... but I think I got it. We Elite players that plays CQC from the main menu will be playing exact same product together with those who purchased this Arena game. On the same servers. Will updates be the same? Do I even want to bother to download Arena if I already play Elite?

Nice ideas!

Even if it's just CQC around and about a large outpost, without SRVs. Put them on a small moon like Epsilon Indi @ Mitterrand Hollow, with the backdrop whizzing past and around.

As an aside - I do wonder how many times per day someone in FDev puts their head in their hands and mumbles 'Oh sweet lord, what have we done, what have we unleashed...?' as they watch the forum explode.

I think that Arena is a peachy gem of a crisp lettuce of an idea... to more than mangle my metaphores.

The confusion is going to come from it being called 'Arena' as stand-alone and 'CQC' from within the game. Surely it makes sense to choose one name and stick to it?

Player1: I thought CQC was Mayhem?
Player2: No, CQC is what Arena is called in my Elite Dangerous: Horizons
Player1: The old "season" Horizons or the new "DLC" Horizons?
Player2: Both.. though I got it through the lifetime pass.
Player1: The older lifetime pass or the new, less old lifetime pass?

They are the same. Arena is CQC, CQC is Arena. I'm sure shortly they'll all be named "Arena" across the board. They'll update the same, we'll all go into one big matchmaking pot (but not cross platform I think), you already have Arena downloaded and accessible as CQC. People who buy Arena don't get ED, people who buy ED get Arena.

I do hope we get surface maps at some point, that should mix up CQC quite good. Maybe even one map with really high Gravity so you have to fight enemys and the planet at the same time :D
