New Mascots Possible?

I wonder if in the mid-April update we'll see any new mascots roaming our parks? Most of our shops in-game already have mascots like Gulpee Rex, Chief Beef, Cosmic Cow, and Foxy. I would really enjoy seeing some new mascots make their debute such as Missy Good, Pipshot, Captain Hotdog for Hotdog Squad, Mr. Frites for Monsieur Frites, a mascot for Pizza Pen, and maybe a clown for Looney Balloons. I also think, at some point in the game, King Coaster should be introduced to his queen, Queen Planet.

I remember last week during the live streams Bo and Sam did say that what they had shown was just some highlights to the massive update coming up. So apparently there's tons more that's going to be released. I'm hoping that the Barbershop Quartet will be one that will be released, but I have a feeling it's going to be an animatronic prop like the Pirate Band.

I love this idea!!! the other shops need their mascots as well...

As well as a chance to customize our entertainers. Imagine Princess Amelie in a pink gown with darker hair... she could be a second character. The possibilities are endless!!!

I would love to be able to recolour her. I would be great if we could colour skin and hair too as well as gown. [big grin]

Haven't spoken in ages about the game on here but hey got some time to kill and am waiting to see what April brings.

I always wanted the mascots to have the ability to switch out uniforms, hair styles, colours and have different animation options a bit like the ride sequence. I would have liked to have them where training unlocked said abilities to perform new animations so it gave a bigger reason to train them up.

It always made sense to add a little more depth to them rather than drop them down, watch the animation once and then forget about them apart from when you need to click a button.

It would be good to also be able to offer them a time for taking selfies with guests maybe using then entertainment points as a way station and then selecting a time for them to be there and they go there and take photos with guests and then after the session back on their way.

It adds to design, creativity and management aspects so covers all parts of the game that people play and links in nicely to one another.

Going with that but slightly off topic it would also be excellent to set colours for staff uniforms and when you train an attendant to level 3 they become a senior attendant, they unlock more ride sequence options or the dynamic ride sequence where it adjusts depending on queue length. They would have the ability to have different colours to the standard attendants so that they are visually obvious at what approx. level they are whilst also just adding a little depth to them also.

The basics are there and tying in these few ideas to me would be a big step forward with Mascots and the staff.

With ride breakdowns it could be if they are senior and it's a basic malfunction like the harness warning light comes on they can respond themselves as they have had training so don't need an engineer. Then if it's a more catastrophic failure then the mechanic gets called. It gives another reason to train and look after better ride attendants and adds a little bit to game play and who is needed when and how best to deal with the problem.

I do agree! I would also love to see more seasonal mascots like they did with the Festive King Coaster. Perhaps like an Easter Bunny character, a Gingerbread mascot, maybe some kind of spooky Pumpkinhead mascot like in RCT3 for Halloween. Maybe an Uncle Sam-style mascot for the 4th of July. Perhaps even some cheerleaders or a marching band that could play brass versions of the in-game songs.

I love these ideas. The breakdowns might be half the maintenance effect of a mechanic, so an inspection is still urgent.

How about a (easter) bunny for a new Tea- or Cupcakes brand inside Planet Coaster. Could also be used as the white rabbit for a "Alice in Wonderland"- theme.

Yep, it could be more complex under the hood than what the player has to see although they could have a visual tangible affect, so for instance;

Harness Warning light is on and so ride malfunction. This is down to one just not being locked in place, attendant checks harnesses at this time resolves issue and goes through check sequence and it is cleared. Now it does it three times in a short period.

A note is added to the ride and it means reliability has dropped below the expected and so an inspection is requested by engineer to see what is causing higher fault rate than expected.

During this period the reputation of the ride is affected as it becomes known as faulty and not maintained efficiently.

Upon the engineers inspection they find the fault and fix it, this could be something such as a faulty fuse that trips the check sequence for the harnesses and so the engineer notes it in maintenance schedule and a cost is attributed to the fault and time.

However it could be that maintenance for the ride generally is lacking and the engineer then states a ride refurbishment is required to resolve the issue and thus a different cost is attributed to it. Now the player has the decision if this should be carried out now or later and thus is managing the requirement of their ride.

The prevention to getting to this stage is of course making sure maintenance schedules and engineers are assigned properly with then a lower chance % of it happening randomly.

Back on top as such I am not too worried about new mascots till we have more options for the existing as previously noted otherwise they are just there and forgotten about tbh.

Fantastic would be a Mascot Designer, like you can design your avatar on the menu, but with lots of stuff to design a mascot, then choose the mascot in the game... of course with sharing on the workshop, etc. That would be amazing. And it could be enhanced by combining mascots to a parade...

Yeah that is kind of what I was getting at where you select the mascot and then you can pick things such clothes, hats, hair style and colour etc as you say.

That way you can have 5 different princesses or cowgirls or whatever and all can feel unique if you want or just to have a different style in your preference for your mascot etc.
