New message from Ram Tah - Decoding the Ancient Ruins

I docked in Meene, and received a new message from Ram Tah. I assume anyone who sold him Unclassified Relics would get this on return to Meene around now.

Anyone else got it yet and started looking into it? It's late for me, and I'm not sure what he means about using the artifacts with the obelisks.

offering you rewards for exploring guardian sites.
it may be old, but it is also incomplete.
there are still sites un-discovered, there are still things un-discovered.

to get the mission is a good thing.
now if you do not already have any guardian tech would be a good time to go get some.

It's a mission which takes a week or two to do, has a decent credit payout, and will give you tons of Guardian obelisk data. You also learn the history of the Guardians.

Excuse me?

The mission can't be completed without a guide, because Guardian obelisks display a loading animation since before the Proteus Wave, the trip to the Guardian bubble plus all the scans take a few days, and the payout is comparable to three trade loops or scanning a handful of strata tectonica.

I did this mission two years or so ago and it was one of the most fun I've ever had in Elite. Granted, I used "easy mode" with FC and the Cannon guide, but I loved reading about the Guardian lore. I'm still annoyed that those decoded messages are not saved in the Codex :(

I agree, I look back on it as one of the best experiences in my game history. Later on I did the second mission but that one's a bit trickier: you have to get Thargoid samples and carry them about while they corrode your SRV. :)

Actually, It's quite a fun little diversion. Takes a while and you get the background to the Guardians.

Prefer the other one that will lead to the guardian beacons.

Yeah, I had the mats farmed for that mission as well (I think they are still onboard my FC), but it was probably too shortly after the first Ram Tah mission, so I never finished it (I was a bit burned out, tbh). I just wish the Guardian Lore would be transfered into the Codex, that would make those missions so much more meaningful
