New message. We are able to immunize Guardian mods now?

We can now engineer Guardian weapons at Ram Tah. Although you are limited to regular Guardian weapons and no modules or FSD Booster.
to be Guardian resistant at the cost of damage.

Tactical Core Chips are for CMDRs with Legs only. (n)
The recipe is for guardian WEAPONS only, unlike what the message says. So no FSD booster immunization to go with SCO drives. :mad:
And of course pre-engineered guardian weapons can't be immunized either.

Probably opens up a few more ships for Titan bombing, because size 1 slots are no longer useless. (y)

Haven't done any math, but my gut instinct would be that large Titan bombers and Orthrus hunting will largely remain unchanged, because of distributor draw and the 20% damage penalty.

I was hoping the FSD Booster would be a part of it. Would make the SCO drive somewhat useful.

Yeah, FSD booster was my first instinct when I saw the news as it'd pair so nicely with the new SCO drives (like you can on every other type of build). Very disappointed with that news. Might be worth getting some Guardian guns out though.

Eh, class 1 advanced missile racks already exist, do more damage than class 1 Gauss cannons, plasma chargers or shard cannons when the resistance mod is added and have as much ammo as class 2 Sirius missile launchers. The only downside is synthesis, but having one synthesis lasts for an hour or so.

The mods could be useful for destroying interceptor patrols at titans or Orthrus hunting, but not really worth it for Titan-bombers.

Agree, the -20% penality, guardian weapon limit, need to keep cold build and small oppotunity window to damage the Titan Core made it not so attactive, lets compare a 2A Guardian Shard with "potential" 135.4 DPS but with small clip (5 ammo) and 5 seconds reload, it have a sustained DPS of 54.89 - 20% = 43.91, 2E Sirius pre-eng AXMR (HC/RF) sustained DPS is 45.74 (counting 16 ammo clip and 2,27 reload time), so almost the same.

If AGZR mod could be apply on pre-end Guardian weapons, like ModShard (HC/RF) of course the math would change.

more comparison and math can be done for ship with Weapon Stabilizer or use of size 1 guardian weapons, but on first impression, it is not game breaking for Titan bomb builds.

btw, I think it is a good choise by FDevs, it open some variety in AX builds for Orthrus and Glaive combat (Ground AXCZ have Glaive), even for Titan runs for large ship with alot hardpoints, but AG Zone Resistance will not break game balance.

Or maybe... is just a new feature for "future content", like FCO and AGZR required to complete some task/mission.

P.S. i got interdicted while using FCO to reach OYA, only one time, but happens.
