Today the minor faction types supporting the federal power of Zachary Hudson has nothing to do with the Federation. I have to wonder how you came up with that idea, that to support the Federation you have to work against the same Federation. We were going to war in a system to fight for the pro Hudson faction. But that is very often going to war against a federal minor faction. So my wing mates had to forfeit from the war to work with their federal reputation and ranks. To me that is so wrong, fighting for Hudson should give federal reputation.
When I started to figure out the mechanics behind the BGS-system it opened a new way of playing this game. But then this realization became more clear to me. Now I had to try to explain that to one of my wing mates, also a Hudson commander:
If you want to rank up with the federation, you can't fight for the federal faction you are pledged to. That will be to work against the federation.
Read that again and try to make sense of it...
There is an easy solution to this, just introduce a new minor faction type, like "republic" and convert most of the factions involved to federal republic or something like that.
