New module storage limit issues

I would like to say i am glad about the buff to the module storage limit because it really does need it but there is a huge issue which is already a problem now.

The layout of the storage tab is borderline unusable because of the seemingly random order of the modules. Finding things is a real pain even when there is 60 modules let alone 120.

One simple solution to this would be to just use the regular outfitting layout for the stored modules tab. This would make it a whole lot easier to find modules.

Again i would like to say i am glad the limit is being raised but honestly without making the tab usable its just easier to leave the limit how it is now.

They are in alphabetical order aren't they?

The limits will change per item not the order of them

They are definitely not in alphabetical order, it looks like there is an attempt at an order but it looks like it is broken.

They are usually in cost order. Most expensive at the top.
I dont think they are, i have multiple C4 plasmas and they are all over the list.

Theu must be grouped by type... as in common to rare
Each group having lower limits are they become more rare

They should just leave in alpha order... it worked

Oh yeah.. sorry..
Its early... need a coffee

Modules are all over the place..... you are right we need the, grouping... I think they are in order of distance away.

Local modules first, then remote ones, then what is being transfered

I spend ages looking for stuff on that dam list.
We need groups or filter.

This is one of those things, along with a bunch of other UI things that could really do with being sorted. Others being Bookmarks defaulting to "Delete" instead of "Plot route" and since the last patch the Missions page defaulting to the bottom (i.e. having to scroll all the way up the Missions to get to the top/CGs)

It's all good.

Yeah the modules are grouped by that which is useful but within those groups its still a mess.

Having the outfitting style page with filters for remote and local modules would be the best solution.

Outfitting stored modules is hard. Its very differ cult to identify the module. There has been multiple requests for a name, tag or ID no of the module to be displayed.

Name or tad we could edit. ID would be module database key for example.

This and the order of modules makes it easy to convert the wrong legacy module by mistake when 3.0 lands

They said they were going to revamp the interface at aome point in the same stream they announced the increased module storage.

Really both should happen at the same time, no point doubling the limit if it is already borderline unusable.

Totally agree. The storage UI needs some sort of filter or categories and after that multiply it by 10 or just make storage available to purchase.

For me (and it seems for a lot of others too) double the storage is still no where near enough. Anyone that's been playing the game for a long time and has a large collection of ships and engineered modules needs a separate fleet of storage Anacondas just to keep all the engineered weapons.

If people are just buying storage anyway in the form of Anacondas then why can't they just make actual storage available to purchase, it would be the same, except being way less of a pain in the a*** to mange.

I don't really have an issue with module storage but, even so, if I'm stripping modules off a specific ship (to take them and get them engineered, for example) I'll do it at a different station to my "home base" just so I know that any module located there belongs to a specific ship and isn't just one of my "parts-bin" modules.

Ideally, it'd be nice if we could create some kind of "filing system" for module-storage, a bit like you can do using file-explorer in Windows.
You'd be able to create one folder called, say, "T9 Mining kit" and another folder called "T9 Cargo kit" and you'd be able to find, and store, all the relevant modules in the related folder.
Or you could create a folder called "Spare Weapons", "Spare Shields" or "Spare Utilities" and you'd know that anything in there was okay to fit to any ship.

Perhaps it'd even be possible to "lock" folders so that it'd be harder to accidentally do things like transferring a juicy-looking 4A multicannon to some other station without realising that it was actually the multicannon off your Anaconda, which you'd just taken off while you test some other weapon in it's place.

I usually keep all of my modules and ships at my home base which clogs up the storage making it a chore to find anything.

Having folders would be a decent thing but honestly I'd prefer the ability to tag a ship on a module. This would add the tagged ships details onto the modules stat page.

But for now having the outfitting style layout would be alot easier.

+Rep

I wish they were either listed by size or type :-(

well right now 60 modules arent really a chore to go through. but the 120 will be a little worse unless grouped by type or smell or something.

Module storage definitely needs a few filter or sorting options. Being able to tag or name modules or make notes on them would be an added bonus.
