Running the latest 388.71, no issues, runs very smooth. Was previously on 388.43

I read you have a1080 TI just like me. May I ask you about your exact settings for Oculus? I'm still struggling with my config.
I'll try the new drivers...
Excuse me for the off-topic.
A whole bunch of settings in Nvidia control panel (Taken from Dr Kaiis post)
In game it has been trial and error, stable performance is based on so many factors. My 1080TI was nicely over clocked for a few months, recently it will only run stable at stock speeds, It may have something to do with changing to the 388.43 a few weeks ago. I tried 388.71 to see if it would fix the problem, unfortunately not, the drivers are very stable though.
Bottom line my system is not running as fast as it could be, CPU is overclocked to 4.9ghz. Have had to make some compromises in my settings. FPS is stable at 90
Ambient occlusion is a big FPS hog, Blur is only related to your ships holographic displays (Starport services) With blur turned ON images behind the panels will be blurred (slightly lower FPS) When OFF everything behind the screen is blacked out.

Yeah
@777Driver
You strike me as a finely tuned machine. I notice you have lowered SS below 1, which I thought caused permanant texture fidelity loss; rubbish in --> rubbish out and all that!
Presumably the payoff of texture loss grants greater pixel densitiy?
What TF is your reasoning!?
EDIT
My settings currently SS:1 * HMD 1.25 = 1.25
777Driver 0.75 * 2 = 1.5
I might try .75 * 1.5 = 1.125!!!! Performance boost!
@777Driver, interesting that your Gamma is so high. I had mine set like that but turned it down because I like the blacks nice and dark on my monitor. Hadn't played with it since getting the Rift.
This thread has strayed from the original topic, but I'd like to know why people bother installing every new nvidia driver that comes out? There's a pattern of shoddy releases from them, why not wait until you actually need the new driver (e.g. some sort of enhancement you've been waiting for is mentioned in the release notes). Sorry in advance if that's why the OP installed this latest release![]()
