New Nvidia driver 445.75 unable to lock buffer

Anyone else having trouble with the new Nvidia driver (for Half-Life: Alyx)? If you do, I suggest adding your two cents to the bug tracker (Issue Tracker).

I know I have this error when I try to launch the game in VR.

I just finished playing and didn't have any issues, so it's not universal.
Even if it were, why should Frontier be fixing a botched nVidia driver?

Also, I thought the norm between nVidia doods was to always use the second to last driver.

Driver 442.37 is super stable for me. Try it. Also there is a chance some windows update broke something, with won't be surprising lately. I put my win upd on pause for last month since it was a disastrous in the world.

Do not know about Vr, but...
I run HDMI to a Sony Tv. It uses High Dynamic Range signals as a feature.. as does (supposedly) my Nvidia Gtx 1070.

The latest driver from, GeForce Experience App, gave me this, until I disabled (and re-enabled) the feature.
The wording prompted me to add this info to the thread.
Little more I can add. Sorry!

So it's a problem in non-VR as well.

I can confirm the issue exists for me too. No VR user. Running the game on 3 TVs, in surround (2D) mode (5760x1080). Never had an issue with previous drivers. Reverted back to 442.59. Always play in borderless mode. All TVs connected with the GPU (1080ti) via HDMItoDisplayPort cables.
System specs:
Core i7-7820X @3.6GHz
16GB DDR4 2.66GHZ Quad Channel
GTX 1080ti
Win10 on RAID0 SSDs

Confirmed the issue on the tracker.

Add yourself to the bug report.

Already did. But somehow I can't edit my contribution. I want to add some details I posted here but IT is not allowing me to edit my post :(. I want to add that driver version 442.74 i.e. just one version prior to the latest one that has the issue, is running OK. Staying here.
Anyway that issue is probably Nvidia's fault. - wonder if it has been reported to them  ...
Ok I reported it in NVidia's Game-Ready Drivers sub-forums.
Edit2: Apparently there are a lot of issues with this driver and a subsequent hotfix 445.78 not only related to E: D but to maany more game les..

The hotfix appears to have fixed the problem for Elite: Dangerous.
