1) What do they mean by "traded"?
The process of buying goods in a station is one fulfilled trade, the process of selling goods in a station is another fulfilled trade. So every unit that is both bought and sold was actually traded twice.

Enter piracy. Does extorting a unit count as a trade? I would think not since a trade is both voluntary and bilateral.

What about voluntary bilateral trades between commanders? Is that to be taken into consideration as well?

There's also loss of cargo due to accidents or involvement in combat.



2) How many computer components are in a single 1t container?
I'm pretty sure that for example one slave alone does not weigh 1t. That would make for some quite fat slaves bemedaled with with quite a lot of riches. It would explain why slavery is so popular in the Empire though. The point being that there might be a lot more units inside a 1t container.



3) Which cutoff date and time should I take into consideration when placing my bet? I'm pretty sure computer components are being traded right now by someone, somewhere.

Has nothing to do with discovery. Contest eligibility is affected to a large degree by laws in those countries that are 'left out'. Rather than jump through a lot of hoops to comply, especially when it costs money to host the contest, they simply declare countries with such laws 'ineligible' for their contests and move on.

On another note, they're not going to make any friends giving away those X52's. Build quality is notoriously poor on those things. :rolleyes:

With no end date theres no way to know.. i could guess it today right down to the unit, but if they pick a end date of 3 weeks from now, ill be millions of units off..

Whatever, i have enough junk email accounts ill throw an arbatrary number at em ;) i think the odds of winning are worse then the lotto in this case

I agree, though I take comfort from the knowledge that my previous purchase of ED and Nvidia graphics card is subsidizing somebody that lives in a richer country than my own.
