New paint brush

The pools in the cages usually have the smooth sloping sides, and are often built to look meandering like a river. The concrete pieces can’t replicate that.
They can, but it takes a lot of fiddling and the high piece count can hurt performance if you're not a "professional gamer" with a big old custom built PC or something.

Like this at the Columbus zoo. Entirely concrete.

Fair and I’ve done that before, but given it up because I like to build large zoos and piece count is killer there.

I agree strongly that it would be much simpler, less time consuming and less expensive to be able to "paint" cement / concrete in a terrain depression to create a lined pool / pond rather than manipulating construction pieces. Please add cement / concrete terrain paint. Even downloading a blueprint that someone else took the time and effort to create and upload to the workshop, you are still limited to that size and shape. A terrain paint option would allow more flexibility to create the size and shape a player wants to have.

I hate to sound forceful but just use the limestone pillars for projects like these. Color them a tan shade and place them around the edges of the water and ta-da one realistic pool of water. A couple dozen pieces is so much better than using tons of concrete to pull off the same result, just make sure the water isnt see-through of course. Requesting a new paint especially an artifical one will never happen in the near future at least.
