New Patch Inbound 50% reduction to ship transfers!

So what do you CMDR's think about the change

I'm thrilled!

Wish it had come sooner I just wasted 54,000,000 (written in full for effect) moving my Asp X from Colonia to the bubble! (was really 97,000,000 but I took into account the 50%)

Eh, less complaints now hopefully personally and this is without wanting to disrespect people's opinion, but I've seen way way too many games ruined by a loud minority, that can seem like many people until you count participants, I respect that people disliked the cost, but at the same time, the amount of noise about it was insane. As long as time remains I suppose it is fine, but I just don't want Elite to begin catering to the loud minorities. Because it ruins the game for the silent majority that enjoy and play what we have. Course simply having a different opinion brings out a lot of hostility in some threads unfortunately of late, it is just one big mess.

I think the entire way ship transfers was handled was completely and utterly monstrous to be honest

The community as a whole didn't know about it at all

We see it in a live stream or something, can't remember now

We are shown instant ship transfers! Mind blown!

Community voted against it, fair enough, but disappointing for those wanting instant obviously. (and bear in mind we are shown instant from the get go)

Then by time we've all tried to fist our opinion onto the matter it arrives as a completely overpriced mess (in my opinion), and is now being slowly balanced I guess

I think the decision was a bit rushed, given that the new content was out for just two days.

But overall I'm ok with it, if this brings joy to some people, and considering that missions were nerfed too. I can't tell from the patch notes if there have been any changes to the rewards, the patch notes only name a bug in regards to mission rewards. We'll just have less Han Solos and more Jabba the Hutts I guess.

I hope that the whole transfer issue can now be put to rest, all parties should be satisfied.
 
I think it's cool. They could even reduce it more.

The important thing is to keep the transfer times, so ship transfer doesn't become a tactical replacement for the FDS.

I agree that the prices were too high, but 50% is a bit too far IMHO. 25-30% would be perfect balance. Again, IMHO.

Do you mean a further reduction to 25-30% of the original 100% or do you mean they reduced it too far?

The one place, well, the only places, I would really WANT to make use of this I can't actually transfer a ship to - namely Engineer Workshops. Yes, I can transfer to a station in the same system and then fly to the Workshop, but if I'm going to do that, I might as well just fly them there myself.

I keep the bulk of my fleet in a good, central location, so none of the Engineers I have access to are particularly far, so I don't mind flying there myself.

I may, at some future point, move my couple wayward ships to where the rest of them are, though for the most part, those wayward ships are hanging out in distant ports because I have some need of them in the systems they're hanging around in anyways... so.. they may just keep gathering dust there too.
