New Patch ruins economic balance + refunds go crazy

With the new patch my franchise Zoo is no longer working at all.
I loose massive amounts of money do to refunds + Guest happiness seems to drop way too fast. (i have everything researched and 5-stars in education)
Also food is way too expensive for some animals.
My Orangutans cost 40k per year, this is just crazy. (or the common Ostrich)
And we need large vendors, there is no way to improve vendor buildings for higher demand. (and spamming the same shop 4 times next to each other looks terrible)

Large Zoos need some work! Otherwise they are Sandbox exclusive...

Hi there. Previously there was a visual bug with animal food which showed it as much lower than the amount actually being charged and paid for. The update fixes this visual bug but shouldn't change the amount actually being charged (So if you were not going into the negative before you shouldn't be now). If you are finding that your zoo is experiencing financial issues after the update can you please report it on our Issue Tracker so our developers can investigate as soon as possible.

So I understand that there was a visual bug, but I've seen a massive dive in finances when I've basically changed nothing about how my zoo runs. It's a bit frustrating and I'm not sure how to word it on the issue tracker (I've also never submitted an issue before and don't want to waste anyone's time if it's just me being a rubbish zoo manager haha).
I went from 1.6mil to about 1.4mil within an hour; before the patch I was making money relatively steadily. I've checked and none of my education speakers etc. are overlapping, I just got a 5* Inspector Report so the animals aren't doing too badly... I'm just confused.

Have you tried assigning the Staff PR Course perk to your staff rooms? It helps your staff improve guest happiness when they interact with guests. I read in one of the other threads that refunds come mainly from unhappy guests. Also, maybe check your merch and ticket prices and lower them slightly if they're on the high side?

My guest happiness is at 4.5 star and the refunds are hitting my zoo hard after this patch too. Didn't have this issue when I played before so some figures have definitely changed. I was making a lot of money quite easily and now my zoo is hemorrhaging money. Before I had all my animals on at least food quality 2 and still made a profit, same amount of staff etc. Now all my animals are food quality 1 and I'm still losing funds at an alarming rate.

Just to add to this, my guest happiness is 80%, there should be no refunds at all...
The guests just decide suddenly that they need to eat/drink/ at the same time and then go unhappy very fast while running towards shops/toilets.
It's like they got way more picky and stupid.

Agreed. Made an account over this issue. Over 100 hours in now, with few problems to date, my zoo had 1.3 million when I started this morning after the patch. I am down to 870k with 60-80k a year in refunds. My guests are consistently in the green, sometimes dropping to just below, but the refunds are making it nearly impossible to profit as I was before the patch.

Yep! Same here.

Been playing Career Mode and my zoo was running fine. Guests are happy. Animals are happy. Income in the green.

Then I log in today and within 10 minutes my zoo goes from green to red. I had 18 flags pop-up!

Guests getting absurd amount of refunds for ZERO reasons.
Guests were happy with all the shops, food, drink etc. Now they complain they are hungry/thirsty.
Guests are constantly tossing trash on the ground even though there is trash cans EVERYWHERE.
Animals ghosting through walls (costing money to capture them).
Vendors taking too many breaks.
Animals constantly needing food and the food costing way too much.

I could go on and on.

The Financial report says I should be getting X amount of cash, but instead I am getting negative cash. :/

Having the same problem here. My franchise zoo was making a great profit before the patch, after the patch it started bleeding money instantly though I hadn't yet made any changes at all....just went from profitable to not profitable. I let time roll for a while and guests are behaving wierdly too, my active food court areas prior to the patch were deserted within very short order after this patch. The vistors instead are all clustering in specific areas of the zoo just going in circles on the paths.

The patch just basically broke the game for me. Between losing massive money and zoo visitor's going bonkers, I can't play at all. Considering it's the same zoo that was doing great prior to the patch, and I never even changed anything before it started happening....gotta say Frontier's to blame, obviously.

My franchise is now unplayable.

Food expense hasn't been addressed except for visual to show you that you are actually losing more, and now refunds are completely out of the ballpark. 1/3 of profit is eaten up via refunds. This is completely unrealistic and unheard of in the real world.

I cannot play my franchise. I'm completely broke and there's no fix.

I'm experiencing a weird, sudden dip into the red in Franchise mode as well. My guest happiness was happily in the green before and is now yellow on all bars, and after 2 years of no refunds, suddenly a bunch of people want their money back, apparently. Frustrated.

Here is the link for the first instance of this problem on the Issue Tracker.
Everybody go ahead and corroborate this issue there so it can gain attention. I am experiencing it too and it is very game breaking.

Also, here's a link to a very similar issue where food costs per habitat factor in trade center animals.
I had suspicions this was happening before the patch, but now I know it is, because I can see it in the UI.

At least in your game their happiness dipped so it almost sorta could make sense. In mine they are still all predominately happy. The face is green at the bottom of the UI showing guest satisfaction, etc. And yet I lost 250,000 in the last year, almost half of that was refunds and the other half was the suddenly way more expensive food. Makes no sense.

I am experiencing the same. I went from growth and expansion to re-designing and trying to survive.

(I even tried dirty tactics of providing free water on 40+C days and charging a small fortune to use the washroom - results were meh. I feel corrupt lol).
