Newcomer / Intro New pilot, hoping to find answers

Hi all, I have a couple of friends who play, and I'm happy to be joining them in E:D. I 'think' I may have briefly played Elite on my old Amiga, but my memory isn't all that, and I don't think I played much anyway.
I'm an ex EVE player, though I think E:D will hit the spot for me with the hands on flight and cockpit view. I've got my joystick set up ready!
One of the questions I'm hoping to find an answer too is about using dual monitors. I have searched the forum, but nothing came up.
So, is it viable to use two monitors, or would triple be the best way to go? I was thinking maybe having a second screen for the side computer on the left of the cockpit?
I haven't even logged into the game yet, so forgive my vagueness..its still downloading :)
Anyway, I'll go pass the time browsing. See you in space, or not (its very big!)

if you use 2 monitors your gunsights will be right in the middle of both of them and you wont be able to see squat, my advice is to get 3 or stay with one and get a head tracker.

Whilst I don't use them myself I've seen a thread regarding it and due to the way the game loads your setup its recommended to use three monitors. I'll see if I can find it because the game does look strange on two monitors, almost like someones cut a line down the center of your canopy :p

Definitely 3 monitor setup, the sense of immersion coupled with a good 7.1 headset is second to none.

Be advised running an Eyefinity/surround setup with tax your adware greatly so make sure your rig can handle it. 5760x1080 is almost as hard as running 4k.

I have an i7-2600k with dual 6970s and I'm getting around 40fps average, however i was getting well over 90 running on single screen.

Cheers for the replies.
I did wonder if that would be the case with two monitors. I kinda wanted the second screen as a 'secondary' screen, rather than half of the main view.
No worries, I've survived this long on one screen,I'm sure I'll manage :)

I do wonder if you could offset the view with two monitors to make it work. Three is always going to be better, of course, but with my one monitor I can't really make the comparisons myself... :)
