New planetary starport?

I stumbled upon a planetary starport type I haven't seen before, and wondering if it's new in v2.2.

Don't have a proper screenshot of the entire station but it's basically a giant circular walled fortress. The large landing pads are arranged around the outer ring. There's huge skyscrapers in the middle, little SRV roads to drive around on, and enough room inside the perimeter wall to land ships on the ground without needing a pad. The walls look like they'd be AWESOME stunt ramps for SRVs. :D

Here's a shot from one of the pads, with an Anaconda for scale:

that is sexy O.O

Kuiper Vision in the Liaedin system is one of these. I've used it as a temporary base while I was up near Sol since Liaedin is Imperial. It's been in since 2.0

Its there since 2.0.

Those are the only surface starports which also have shipyards, except I Sola Prospect which had a handplaced shipyard by FD.

Actually at some point in 2.1 they added more shipyards to planetary outpost so you don't need to luck up on one of these

They have been constantly upgrading the planetary bases in the background. Many of the orbital installations as well.

My Coriolis starport now, unfortunately, has the hideous banner ads.

Yeah I've landed at several of these since 2.0

Might need to be the Military economy to produce this kind of landing pad. Most are colony.

Thanks everyone! :)

I haven't done a lot of planetary stuff so yesterday was the first time seeing these. Liked it so much I just made one my "home" (now that we have ship transfer).

I found 2, one an Ag/Refinery, the other an Ag/Colony. Maybe the Agriculture part is a pre-requisite?

In the case of my home system, Hi-Tech. Was literally the first planetary base I ran into since it was so close. You think it's big? Hop into your SRV and drive around it. ;)

Here's an overview screenshot. Unfortunately it's a tidally-locked planet so always night. T-9 landing gives scale.

These are super-impressive in VR

the sense of scale in these planetary bases are really impressive and no guessing involved figuring out the approach vector from a distance unlike lesser outposts.

Yeah for the large pads it's awesome. The smaller pads are a bit annoying as you have to clear a high screen on the way in and then drop down rather than airplane it.

I wish the SRV highways were fully connected the whole way around. Would make a nice F1 race :D
