new player concerned with community

We are by natures design, predatory and agressive.
Black Friday sales made the news.

The forums here are above average I'd say and people in game are considerably well behaved.
Mind you, I think the poor in game comms system has a lot to do with that.

The game has the word "dangerous" in the title, it is bound to draw some colourful characters.

And if people can't vent anger in game (poor in game comms), the forum is their next port of call.

Hi all sorry to ask this, but I only got the game today and I am reading these forums and see a lot of not very nice discussions and even border on abuse some times . Is this generally how things are on here , or is it just a few that are like this . I want to play in a nice community with good people who help each other and not abuse , just because they have a different opinion.?

I can agree that forum become less friendly lately, lots of unnecessary "troll" topics and arguing happens around. And its a shame because I remember that during beta phases this was a great place to hang out.
I'm sure this problem will sort itself out eventually.

I think there are 3 groups

1) Innocent bystanders

2) Frontierian Church members whitewashing everything from single player DRM to missing content

3) honest people pointing out the flaws, getting labelled as trolls by group 2)

I'm not denying the OP to raise the question, i stated an opinion based on prior forum experience.

Also note the deliberate use of the terms "imo" and "sorry".

If my post "is a perfect example" of bad forum etiquette, then, i'm afraid, your standards are unattainably high for me.

But that is like calling someone a nasty name (i would use a descriptor here, but even redacted comments are considered profanity), saying that's just your opinion, punching them in the face and then saying sorry.....imo, sorry! ;-)

You must be new to multiplayer gaming, it happens on consoles and every other platform , it is a case of pressing the button on the left that says " report this post", if you think it is abuse. You also have this option in game to report players.
