New Player Here: PC issue with Supercruise

Hello Community,

I recently purchased the game. After sorting out my account creation issues with frontier I played a few time before a patch this week. Post patching my client i can leave the station and fly around the station but when I enter supercruise or try to travel out of the system it counts down and never engages the super cruise or system transfer. I've let it sit for 20 minutes. I restarted the client multiple times and I just end up in space near the station. I tried validating my game files. Its unclear to me what the issue is. I seek someone's wisdom who may have encountered this issue before.

The game does not outright crash just sits at 00:00:00 on the supercruise timer with the initial animation with the stars flying by. I cannot enter ship menus the mouse steering cursor error seems to work still.

Regards.

Hm - it is a bit unclear what happens, from your description. So - you leave the station (undock) and go out of mass lock. For example, if you have plotted a course to the next system, you see the target ring. If you now engage SC, what exactly happens? Is there the countdown? Do you enter 'witchspace'? Because if after entering witchspace you never arrive in your target system, this could be a connection error, it happens sometimes.
If you have no specific target and just want to go to SC - what exactly happens? Do yo see the countdown? Also - I had this once, that jumping to a new system (high waking) took a very long time, and in many cases the game aborted with a connection error. The servers were bad at this time. And at the same time, after finally arriving I could not fly to a station, because I could not enter SC.

Interesting with your problem is, that it sits so long - usually if you have connection problems it runs into a timeout and reports connection problems and exits you to the menu.
Check your network settings, sometimes during an update several settings are returned to the defaults. Also check your internet connection. It seems like a connection problem to me.

If nothing helps, use the Support Site and submit a ticket. This is different from reporting a bug, your case will be handled by support - and they are quite good and fast.

i'm having the exact same issue. attempting to engage the frame shift results in a frozen countdown at 0, the hyperspace visuals, but no speed increase, no distance change, and complete lockout of all commands except the toggle combat/analysis mode button. cant even escape to menu. have to force close. have validated game files twice, and done a full reinstall of the game. same issue. have opened a ticket with support so see what they say. cant play at all as it is. Funny/annoying thing was i tried to dock in the nearest port (i was at haxel port) to see if changing ships made any difference, and the game glitched out inside the port before i could dock, dropped to 4fps, crashed me into the wall, and had to force quit, next reopen of the game, now i cant go back in due to fines. ah well.

I think it was the server last night. It seems to be resolved now checking it this evening. Thanks for your response.

Yes, it was while engaging had a route. I just was unable to play that evening. I dont know if a server maintenance fixed it or what. After logging in the following evening it seemed to be working again. Now i just get to deal with the frustration of constant disconnects. My connection is good and stable for every other game I play. No packet loss etc. I seem to disconnect a lot while traveling to other systems, and inconvenient times. Such as having a void opal roid all charged up and ready to pop after searching for it for a huge amount of time. Only to rejoin the game within seconds and having the belt reset on me. Very frustrating.

Curious if I am just having bad luck or everyone's experience.

I would recommend to use the support link I posted above. Mind, this is not a bug report! A bug report is not helpful at this point, since they would need a lot of information.

Open a support ticket, this is some problem with your connection, I think. AFAIK the game uses UDP, and this can be a problem if something is not configured correct. So open a ticket and they will tell you which information they need and how to obtain it.
