New player questions

Hi everyone,

sorry if this is the wrong section for gameplay help, but I'm a backer from Kickstarter that got Gamma access yesterday, and am struggling with some things. I can't seem to find an up-to-date answer for this anywhere.

1. I seem to get "wanted" status randomly for no reason at all. It's driving me insane. I'm playing solo to get used to the game, and I haven't attacked any clean NPC pilots at all. I haven't even deployed my weapons in hours. Still, I seem to randomly get wanted status. I have already paid a bounty to clear my name 3 times, and got killed twice because of law enforcement suddenly thinking I'm a criminal. I'm not transporting any illegal goods, I haven't fired in the vicinity of a station, nothing! What could be causing this?

2. Related to the first problem, I'm currently trying to pay my bounty in a system where it says: "Allegiance: Federation" (LHS 448, Seddon Dock). But in the only starport of the system there is no option for me in the 'Contacts' tab for me to pay it up. It says I have no criminal record. What gives? Are these bugs?

This whole thing caused me to become Unfriendly with the Federation and it's made me get from 20000+ credits to less than 1000. Basically some 5 hours of play wiped :/

While I'm at it, a few general questions about the game:
3. Almost all missions in the Bulletin Board are unavailable to me, mostly because I'm not trusted enough. Is improving my reputation with a faction the only way to solve this?
4. How can I up my reputation again? I presume attacking Wanted NPCs and collecting bounties. But where can I find them? Is there any place where there's lots of ship traffic or something like that?
4b. Sometimes I see a Nav Beacon waypoint where I see ship traffic, but this appears to me randomly. Is there a way to find this in every system in the Navigation screen?
5. The trade route info in the galaxy map utterly confuses me. I can select each trade good individually, but sometimes there are no lines going out of the system I'm in, for a specific good that is produced in that system. Is there an easy way to check where I can sell things that are high supply in a given starport, while I am looking at the Commodity Market screen?

Thanks in advance for the help :)

You mentioned you killed NPC's who were wanted. Even if it was a righteous kill, any good you take will still be "stolen." You will scanned upon arrival at any space ports and the stolen goods are causin you to get fined.

Well, I haven't taken any dropped goods because I was already carrying cargo at all times. So it's not that. But that's good to know, thanks.

Look at the 2nd window of navigation panel where your missions are... You may have owed credit that is related to a specific base.

Also, after you pay it, save out of the game and restart from scratch, there WAS a bug the wouldn't removed wanted till you logged out.

The mission screen is empty. But I'll make sure to take a look at it frequently.

By the way, it happened to me again right now. I must be doing something wrong.

There was an unidentified signal source and I went there to check what was up. There was a Wanted NPC, so I attacked him and got a bounty credit for this kill. All fine. But then, suddenly, some law enforcement vessel turned red in my radar, hostile to me, and started attacking me saying I'm a criminal. Now I'm wanted. There's definitely something wrong here...

Not sure here...
.
Is it possible that the 'wanted' npc was not wanted in that system and he is friendly with the system to killed him in.
.
Just a thought with rep being fleshed out some?

I encountered the same this yesterday. I was hunting some wanted NPC but some security vessel opened fire on me and i got bounty on my head (which i further couldn't pay off later). Two bugs with one hand. I really hope those bugs get squished asap.
