New player seeking advice

Hey guys/gals,

I've been watching the game for awhile now and have decided that when I get home this week I am going to purchase the premium beta. I've been over the forums a bit but didn't have much luck finding threads that are geared to helping me (a newcomer) get up to speed.

Any info, links, suggestions are appreciated. Sadly but honestly, I'm not very informed past the official videos I've watched.

You may not be aware, but the single player missions are now available for the standard beta backers, with full access not that long away. Not that you wouldn't be welcome in the multiplayer universe, of course. :D I'm the one usually scraping the nose of his ship on the landing pad and hoping no-one is watching!

As for your actual question, there are loads of videos on YouTube also. Look out for Sam J, Isinona to name a couple. There are also lots of 'for beginners' threads throughout the forums.
