It's not something I'd want on my ships, but they look pretty awesome and it's a nice departure from the norm. Well done, FD!

I am not going so far to claim that FDev got inspired by this. But obviously the basic idea floats my boat and I certainly would love to purchase one of the new paint jobs. I definitely hope, the Vulture will get one of those, too!
Well, THAT is atleast designed around the structure of the ship. The one they are showing looks completely half ***ed done. It doesn't follow the contours of the ship, crosses panel lines at odd points. Looks like it was just rushed out and slapped on top of the model without any real effort. Really not impressed at all.

I find them tacky and ugly, but whatever floats one's boat, I suppose. I do find some of the comments funny, such as "nice to see effort put in".. it's just a quick glowmap overlayed over the basic texture. Any half decent texture artist could whip one of these up in Photoshop in 5 minutes - in fact, these probably took less effort to do than most paint packs on the store. Now, the fact it was quick to do doesn't mean they're bad by itself, just saying that something glowing does not equal hours of texturing work, but it's kinda funny to see people so taken by shiny glowy objects, like a cat with a laser pointer

Seriously, if you can't hit a black friday anaconda with fixed weapons, you need more help than a glowy paintjob. Lighten up lol

Unfortunately, I have to agree here. When I had a closer look, I found it a bit odd, that the designer didn't follow "the ship's flow" a little bit more - including the panel-crossing you mentioned.
I still like the basic idea of a) the line structures and b) the glowing effect.
I saw an NPC flying an orange pulse Python last night, in Solo. My first thought was "Wow!". It looked stunning.
I may get one for my Python, assuming I start flying it again. If it was available for the AspX or Type-9, I would have already bought it; those are the only 2 ships I've been flying lately.

(if I found these nice I wouldn't care that it makes me easier to hit, my primary reason for hating these is that I really find them to be the ugliest skins I've seen for any elite ship, ever. They're just not to my liking is all).

I bought the Purple one for my Anaconda this morning, but I have to say, it is a bit too over the top for my tastes. For one thing, the color is WAY lighter and brighter than the images on the FD store, but the real deal breaker is that part of the design covers over the last letter of my ship's name as well as the last digit of my Ship ID!
How did they let that happen? I'm not going to go through the hassle of asking for a refund, so there goes another 3 bucks to the "Keep ED going" fund.

I completely agree, I'd love to put them on top of my favorite color especially if I could turn the pulse on and off at will from the ship's menu and/or keybinding !
