New rides and attractions for JWE2

Based on the promotional screenshots for JWE2, I believe it’s safe to assume that all of the rides and attractions that were in the previous game, will be returning for the sequel. Which is good news, as they were a decent selection for players to build and provided different ways for seeing the dinosaurs.

However with a sequel, not only is there a need for new prehistoric creatures and more customisation etc, there is also a need for new attractions to be incorporated into the game as well to really help set it apart from its predecessor. With this in mind, here is a list of all the rides and attractions that I believe could realistically work for JWE2:

Gondola Lift

I would also like the JPOG balloons. Also paddle rides would be cool or the petting zoo.

While the hot air balloon is a nice concept, I don’t think it should return for two reasons. The first reason being that the skies of Jurassic World Evolution 2 are already crowded as it is with the ACU and Fossil Expedition helicopters. Why make it even more cluttered?

The second reason is that if Frontier do want to add an aerial tour for the game, it won’t be a hot air balloon due to (potential) copyright issues and Frontier themselves wanting JWE2 to set itself apart (at least visually) from JPOG. More likely it will probably be a helicopter tour, as that was going to be in the Jurassic World park from the film.

But the petting zoo and kayak ride would both be great additions to the sequel, with the former being good way for visitors to see some of the smaller and safer herbivores and the latter being a spectacular attraction from the film!

In that case, I think a plane ride (like Jurassic Park 3) or an airship would be more enjoyable than a helicopter. Airships would be perfect, because they are quieter than planes or helicopters, I think they would bother animals less. Or walking safari in plataforms.

Frontier is dealing with a 3rd party licensed IP, what finally makes it into JWE and JWE 2 is also subjected to the copyright holder's approval.

Some attractions, like the river jungle excursion as seen in the film, require significant game development effort such as the paddlers' animations while frantically trying to escape on their canoes from a rampaging carnivore.

These are creative and technical limitations to consider.

Balloon rides are nice rural/semi-suburban festival attraction, but they're completely at the mercy of the wind so they don't make for good, reliable tour vehicles. It could be an attraction in which they go up on a long tether, but come right back down after a little time up high.

A plane would go too fast imo for the size of maps we have (even if we got 5-10 times larger in JWE2, which I'd be pleasantly surprised if they did), and then there's the runway that will hog a lot of space. Maybe it could work as a visual representation of a tech researched in the control center: the tech increases income, while a Beechcraft King Air occasionally flies in an makes a loop around the park and flies off again every 5-10 minutes (the runway would just be assumed to be elsewhere in the nearby region beyond the park borders.

I think a helicopter tour would be the best fit. A small building for the tour office and 1-3 helipads makes for a medium to large(long) footprint, but still smaller than the old ACU and ranger station. 3 helos might be a bit busy in smaller parks, I agree, but in larger parks (and especially if the maps get a lot bigger than before) 2 or 3 thrown in the mix with other traffic will feel just right imo.

Good list. I would also add the Treetop gazers or bridges.
It puts the guests at a very convenient biting height. :v
I would love to be able to build something like this in the game, as I would also like to see sauropods interact more with guests.

The log viewing gallery is already added for all eras.

I am not sure about the river ones.

If gondolas (like the ones we see in the series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous) are added, would those count as transport coverage in the Jurassic World era?

If the footprint of the stations were small enough to be practical (the complete opposite of the monorail station to put it mildly), then the Gondola could see an incredible amount of use. I made a hilltop T-Rex enclosure overlooking my Main Street, but I had to to scale it down because the path up to a viewing gallery looked very silly. Smoothing it out to look realistic for old people to make it up the hill without dying look a lot of space. A gondola up the hill though - that's exactly what I need to make that vision come true. I think it would open up some avenues of building vertically for a lot of people.

And everything I just said here doesn't even factor in the attraction value of having a gondola go IN said enclosure(s). After seeing the pictures posted in this thread, I'm definitely feeling that a gondola would be the premier attraction of all attractions.

TLDR: Completely in favor of a gondola - so long as it's not ridiculously high in the air like the monorail, or there's some kind of height adjustment you can control as you're building it.

I´d like a Gondola cable Car like in CC Show as Attraction and for Transport !!!
I Agree that the Endstations should be realtive small and not to high, so we could use it even in the Aviarys.
An Other thin I miss as PS4 user that there is no JP version of the Monorail !
There were a Lot of Monorails in Use at 1993 in Real Themeparks, and there can be no doubt that JP would´ve got one 1-5 Years after opening ;) .
It would just need a New JP themed Skin for the Monorail.
The Rail and the Pillars for the JP Version could show more Steel / Iron just like the JP Aviary ;) .

I remember riding the monorail as a little kid. If Jurassic Park had opened in 1993, Hammond would of course sparred no expense.

The Toronto Zoo had one years ago. It's since been closed down and sections of track removed, but Monorails were a big thing back in 'the day'

I think they would count as additional transport coverage, especially since both the Gyrosphere and Jurassic Tour can also provide transportation.

I concur.

These storyboards made during Jurassic World's production show just how magnificent of an addition the Gondola Lift would be as a means of transport in our parks but also as unique of seeing both the dinosaurs and the pterosaurs.

Last year in February 2022, Nose1995 made such a thread discussing this idea and I found their suggestion for a Jurassic Park era monorail to be very interesting.

Instead of a traditional monorail system similar to the ones used in Disney World and Jurassic World, they instead suggested a suspended railway similar to the Wuppertal Schwebebahn in Germany. I find the design to fit very well within Jurassic Park's design aesthetic, whether it's to be used for a Jurassic Park or a Site B.

Funfact ....I live in Germany and the Wuppertal Schwebebahn was built around the Year 1900 and has opened in the year 1901 !!!
For it´s time it was very Futuristic. .... Like the London Underground was for the Year 1863 ;) !
But for JP era 1993 would an Skin Variation ( Rails /Pillars/ Ride) with more use of steel etc. be ok ;) if a Schwebebahn would be to much extra work !
The Viewing Pods in the scribt above would be very nice for an realtive small Cable car attracktion that could use the gamemechanics we allready have for the zipline we have. Even the Towers and their design could be used with small adjustments . In the CC series can be seen how the JW version should look like.
