New Ship Capabilities In 2.2!

I was able to fly below the surface of planets last night! It was like Hunt For Red Space Loach!

My "depth" remained a constant -1 meter, but latitude and longitude updated. Speed worked normally.

I was able to target Felicity's base, for example, and "surface" next to it. My altitude (now) was -1 meter, until I reached the drop point. Then, I was able to supercruise.

We can now conduct attacks on surface installations while submerged! Think of the data gathering/skimmer kill missions. They will *never* see this coming!

Dev's: We need a periscope. This should be a size 1 internal module (since it has to be stored inside the hull).

You guys were stealth testing underwater movement for atmospheres, weren't you? :)

I'm at work, so I can't post shots from here. You will just have to make do with the ones I have already posted.

You know, the ones the Paladins called "a minor graphics glitch". :)

Did you see the cables, connecting the generators and turrets? Were you able to cut them?

Can Python now receive a shark fin as one of her kit pieces, please?

Seams like a feature seen in Cobra the OAV (maybe the psychogun)
Some space ship capable of disphasing, travelling in hard object like "under" our dimension...

Well, SC steal Dune's sands worm... Why ED cant take some from Cobra !?

We do used the Cobra engine.

Badaboom!

Didn't get that close, as I wanted to surface, not crash.

New tactical possibility: Dive under the surface to avoid laser attack/thermal attacks. Han Solo: "They would be crazy to follow us, wouldn't they?" : )

Hide under the installation/POI. Try to launch the SRV (Hmmmmm). Might have to surface. Still, surprise factor.

Camp outside the NFZ for any number of nefarious purposes.

Ideas?

You seem to mention "the paladins" a lot in your posts. What are you talking about?

He believes he is being persecuted by 'paladins' or 'white knights'. He also believes support is reading his every post within minutes and modifies their responses to him based on what he posts here. The problem started when 2.2 began rendering things incorrectly because he failed to install the correct drivers of his GPU. Since then he starts multiple new topics everytime he sees something rendering incorrectly. He also started a topic demanding FD work overtime ubntil they fix his bug. Not joking.

Your application for Squire has been denied. :)

I said that Frontier would be working overtime because of *all* the bugs discovered after launch.

If things render incorrectly, and I get a kick out of it, why not share? And, the idea that Frontier should not have foreseen that the user base would *not* have the latest, hottest graphics drivers available to them. I updated my drivers, BTW.

"Backwards compatibility" seems to have escaped Frontier's QA. That's on them. They are locking out a great many of their customers. The beta testers for elite tend to run the hottest hardware, and are fanatics about getting VR and high-end graphics.

That is certainly *not* a representative sample.

And, I'm not the only player with graphics issues. Check Ziggy's thread about missing planets...

As for persecution, it's more like comedy. The lengths that the uber-defenders of the game will go to to explain away failure on Frontier's part can be comedy gold.

If anything, this Epic Fail of a launch has given me one of the best laughs in years.

You can go back on ignore, now. :)

How many more threads about your ancient drivers are you planning to spawn today? :p

As many as possible.

It might even be an advantage. :)
