New Stations

Does anyone know if there are plans to add new space stations as time goes on? It would seem kind of silly for mankind not to build at least scientific outposts near interesting spacial phenomenon.
 
A few new stations have been constructed as part of community goals but Im not sure overall.

I wouldn't expect to see any stations/outposts miles and miles away from human controlled space but the expansion or contraction of the inhabited bubble around sol may well happen.

The short answer is no. FD is blind and deaf, and will not add new stations, derelict ships in space, or any content that does not fit in the next update 1.4 which will be the "ultrahypersuperpowerplay".

Incorrect.

Some stations have already been added. Some stations have grown. There is already a mechanic for the Background Simulation to create new stations in new systems.

Like ED economy background simulation. this will be very good then.

Wow, you sound like you need a snickers bar. It's not like the game has a 10 year development plan scheduled or anything. If they rushed and released everything as soon as possible it would all be done with minimal quality.

Edit: Read your recent posts, could you stick to being angry on angry threads and not sabotage threads asking honest questions? (Also ignored list :))

I hope in the future the development of new stations kicks off for real... Yes, there's been a couple of station built since the beginning of the game, but I'd like it if there was a mechanic to make the whole thing more dynamic. It would be great if there were stations, or at least outposts, on remote locations, several jumps away from civilised space. These could act as explorer's resting stations. Kind of like those petrol station in the middle of the desert in the US :)

I agree. small outposts - and not TURNING UP INSTANTLY when FD click the button for a new system but actually being built. The Sirius Corp. outposts community goal thing was a nice idea but was were really poorly executed. the systems were all in one area, all INSTANTLY COMPLETE and generally not very interesting, nothing uniqu or outpost-y about their use...and renamed to random things weirdly... poor effort overall IMO.

not to mention, Jacques not moving anywhere, and New Yembo being a bit farcical to.

This is the aspect of Elite Dangerous that needs the most work in my opinion - solo gamer content: personality & life.

I agree and that is what we really hope for new updates.

And i would add capital ships to land in.
 
I would like to see different types of stations around. Each faction and area should have their own feel. Currently every place has the same character, and is not unique.

Though, you mention of scientific stations is a good one. Imagine them giving out missions to go explore certain systems or anamolies. A station around a sun with a shield protecting it.
Could also have military "stations" like the capital ship near earth be a dockable station that gives special combat missions.

Also need flotilla scrap heap stations for scoundrels, Pirates, and people trying to live in lesser parts of the inhabited regions.

Yes, it's been part of Frontier's pitch for Elite Dangerous since the KickStarter campaign. Although the main focus of the video below is on how player actions will affect the galaxy, it does mention the building of a new station as an example scenario.

As humanity expands into new systems, new stations will surely be built. I like your idea of scientific outposts/observatories, perhaps some of the new stations will be along those lines.

We completed a community goal to help an alliance in a colonization program about 6-8 weeks ago. I think there was a galnet new article saying they would take 6-8 weeks to complete construction so I'm assuming they will appear when 1.3 drops :D that's if they haven't forgotten ;)
stations are added (oh and Jaques station moves) only when there's an update at the moment, and there hasn't been one for sometime.
