New stego worth it?

It's okay I guess. Looks fine but it's rather bland.

It's definitely not vivid. So yeah, I'm a little bit disappointed.

It was really cool for Frontier to do this event and I hope more things like this happen in the future. I’m not ungrateful for the free skin but...well, I feel like they missed the mark. Before making any quick judgments, I went ahead and incubated all the dinos that have the vivid skin genome and the stegos just didn’t really seem to fit. It’s just purple, black and some grey. Reminded me of a plum. I think some yellow would have really made it pop. I’m curious to see how that would look if the black or grey was replaced/added with that color. The other dinos have reds, blues, purples, yellows etc, all different shades and combos. The stego just seems kinda blah next to the rest of them.

Cosmetic genes are always going to be a little subjective, so not everyone is necessarily going to be a fan of every single one. We try and ensure that each cosmetic gene gives a look that fits into the established design and feel of Jurassic World. We really appreciate the enthusiasm our community showed in unlocking this gene and everyone should be incredibly proud of the amazing achievement it was to unleash so many Stegosauruses into the wild! You all totally smashed that target into smithereens!

Tbh I was so angry when I saw it. Now I'm just sad. First the Parasaurolophus, now Stegosaurus. I'm probably one of the few people who doesn't care about Velociraptor skins but making bland skins for Para and Stego, that's personal. Those are the two of my most favourite dinosaurs. While I agree that this topic will always be subjective I don't think you will find many people, if any, who would think that the Stego and Para skins are wonderful, particularly the new ones. There are so many interesting and wonderful skins in this game, just not for my most favourite dinosaurs. :/

I understand where everyone is coming from regarding the stego skins (and para... to be honest the default is the best para skin), but I honestly like the new stego skin. Stego was one of my favorites as a kid, and I had a toy stego that's reminiscent of the new skin that was just released. I understand that it's not very vivid, and I understand that the stego (and para) skins aren't vibrant, but I appreciate the new skin.

Thank you

It was a worthless update, yes its subjective but dont use a word that literally means Colorful if your going to make it dull and sad.

I would have appreciated a skin with a different pattern ... but I have lost faith in what concerns the skins in this game...

This. +100

What I found worst about the new skin is that it felt unreal compared to some of the other ones. Even on HD graphics it looks like a toy dino :| But, oh boy, it was free and easy getting...

Cool event? Yes

Stego skin? I love stego so I have been wanting a new skin for them

Vivid skin? yes but the skin we got is really dark, almost coastal since it is practically black

Frontier's problem with skins is that almost all of them are really bland because they are just a dull color, (usually) in this case vivid is just another world for purple except its so dark its black. The only good skins are ones that have patterns that make the dino more exotic (metricanthosaurus, parasaur, succhomimus). I was hoping stego would get something really exotic looking like muttabasaurus's vivid skin.

I think it was more about the event than the actual skin. I was really busy so I didn't get a chance to help out. I can't believe the OP is asking if it was worth it. *facepalm*

The skin was free. All you had to do was make a bunch of Stegos in a video game. There was no real physical labor involved. So it wasn't a bad deal. You got a free skin for something that took minimal effort. I am sure sitting on your butt and starting JWE up was really hard work. Double clicking is really a lot of work.

Jeez.

But yeah I don't see how the skin is vivid. Usually vivid means it has bright colors. I think it does have some purple on it some where. Though to me it looked to be more of a dark grey color. But whatever, it was free.

In my observation, the Vivids are generally dark (purple based) and the whole set would be better named "Nocturnal". It would also fit the environment theme of the other skin sets.
