General / Off-Topic New Stephen King's It movie

I cant believe I`m saying this but wow, this movie is a good piece of entertainment. Most of big movies this year were a disappointment for me but IT actually delivered. New Pennywise was great (yes the Tim Curry classic will always be the scary one coz I was the kid when I saw him) but the new creature and new actor looked really good imo. And most important new "looser club" kids were great, its so rare these days to see good kid actors in movies like that but those guys and gal are really talented and made a convincing performance.
As a adult I really prefer new IT over the mini serie that literally put me to sleep when I re watched it after the years. 2017 It is a solid mysterious/horror story, rare site in today Hollywood stable. [up]

When IT was announced I groaned inwardly thinking "AGAIN???? there really are no new movies anymore" but then the reviews were kinda good and the trailers looked impressive and I was noticing the urge to go see it for myself. Solid acting performance in addition to the incredible FX effects. While not groundbreaking or "incredible" I still went out of the movie theater feeling greatly entertained and money well spent. Thats not too common these days anymore.

Saw it in an "Executive" theater with reclining loungers while I was on vacation. Went in with zero expectations and was surprised how much I liked it.

Ah yes, I remember the original and how the ending was......Oh it's an alien spider thingy...oh ok....
But there was a positive buzz regarding this new version. So me and Flimicity went off to the cinema to watch it. She liked it lots, me? Unfortunately I was mostly bored.....mostly, and I think it's because I bought into the hype monster surrounding the film and it raised my expectations a little too high.
But looking back now it was entertaining enough. With the sequel door left wide open.

Oh yes Vasea, Tim curry....and excellent performance !

I have been Flimley.

I should have stated that I actually never read the original book. Tim C clown was better in the way that he was not "scary" at first, he was louring those kids to him with his appearance. New creature is spooky from the start (not sure why he is even trying to be a clown when I think of it) and that could be a minus for the new movie... still I like him, he is very weird creepy thing from "beyond" and the way he is transforming in to various fears of the kids makes him very Lovecraftian and I LOVE good Lovecraft monsters. Of course story has nothing to do with Lovecraft, in his version kids would be eaten and the one left alive would ended up in a mental institution...

Looking back at the timing of the original film. I can't help but think It was a conspiracy to stop children eating McDonald's. Did you see some of their advertisements back then ? Really creepy.

Flimley.

The trailer spoiled a key reveal. Like they always do. Some have found the film funny which is disturbing in it own way.
