Got to say I am looking forward to this development.
'The changes coming for supporting the stories also have benefits elsewhere. One example of this is that there are new things for explorers to find while they are out in deep space. They won't pop up on the navigation system unless you're close enough.'
Odd that they won't pop up on the navigation systems, which, to me, suggests they will display similar to the 'Signal Source' type interactions. Could that be improved upon?
Considering we have an advanced discovery scanner I would assume, hate that word because assume makes an Ass of U and Me, that the scanners frequency range would cover an extensive part of the frequency spectrum to allow it to pick up anomalous signals!
If not then fair enough, but how about an upgrade to the ADS, like an Advanced Signals Analysis Unit that would allow an explorer to scan the parts of the spectrum that the ADS does not reach.
Just a thought!
