Newcomer / Intro New to BH, where should I buy my fighter?

Hello guys,

I used to trade a lot in my T6 until ~15M cr but it's getting extremely boring. I want to try Bounty Hunting with a Vulture but my question is : where should I buy my Vulture? By that I mean should I buy it in close systems as Lave/Leesti etc (for those who don't know, they are less than 10ly away from one another), or can I buy it anywhere? Because the vulture clearly doesn't have the jump range of a class A T6, and therefore I fear my little fighter might be stuck in a useless zone.

Also I wanted to know if the Vulture is a solid choice for bounty hunting with 15M credits, or if i should save until I can afford a bigger ship like the Python?

The place you buy the Vulture at should have some appropriate FSDrives stocked. If I remember correctly (bought one yesterday night) an A grade FSD
increases the range significantly. Also, 15M is fine. I had 5 to spare after the purchase and my quick excursion to my favourite RES went quite nicely

But even with a A-class FSD, the Vulture has only 10Ly of jump range, which is pretty bad and can stuck me between 2-3 systems. Does it matter?

With a class 4A rated FSD on your Vulture you should be getting at least 15 lys/jump. Unless you are stuffing it full of Hull packages and Military armor. Don't worry with armor and hull packages. The Vulture has very heavy shields for it's class. So work on upgrading the shields with boosters or shield cells.

Something like this, http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=60N,5TP5TP3we0_g0_g,2-6Q8S6Q5K7_6Q5A,7Su , is only for RES hunting, but it performs well in that role. Play around with different builds, and find what works for you.

As for where you can find a Vulture. You can find them in practically every High Tech system, and since you can find them there that's where I would go since they will almost certainly have the upgrades you need too.
