New to E:D. Question about 'Massacre Missions'.

The Mission is to shoot down 'x' amount of 'partnership of gd 215' ships. The only problem is, when I arrive at the (any) conflict zone, ALL of the ships are green to me. Yet, they are shooting at each other. How do I know WHICH ships I can shoot at? Once I pop a ship, is there a way to tell which side he was on? Or, is there a way to tell whether that ship counted toward my goal of 'x' ships?

you can select a side in the right hand panel under the functions tab if you are allied with both the minor factions. i would side with the one you took the mission from lol . You can see who gave the mission if you select it in the transaction tab on the left hand panel
