New To Flower Picking; Where To Go, What To Do

So I see the new Thargoid War, and would like to sample it; but I've yet to actually fight a Thargoid, and haven't engaged with Elite content since the engineering grind got way too much, and then Odyssey was oooyah.

I have a semi-built AX ship, and would it as is be able to take on at least low level Thargoid ships? Ideally I'd like to avoid any further engineering grind, but if different AX stuff is easy to get (I do have some unlocked) I can shake things up a bit. And if so, what's the simple way to start dipping in? Ideally somewhere that might help the war effort; any particular station, combat zones in a system etc that would be recommended?

I also have a Fleet Carrier and all the other ships, with the Big Bois fully specced out (Exploraconda, Federal Corvette as PvE, Type 9 miner, 728t cargo Cutter, passenger Beluga) so I can help with those too.

Any tips folks?

I found these people very helpful in learning AX combat and their discord helps coordinate Ax ops and is full of very helpful folks who like to kill aliens :) https://antixenoinitiative.com/

For me (and I'm very far from an expert on this :)) I found that going to Low Intensity AXCZ's is a great way to get a feel for combat. They're mostly Scouts with Interceptors after a short while, so you can get a feel for how your ship fights and also see how the enemy operates.

Generally everything I know is from the AXI discord/website and youtube vids made by various members, and it's been very helpful.
