New to Odyessey

Quick question please, I have been playing elite dangerous + Horizons for years and have 4 billion CR and access to all ships. I just bought the Odyessey DLC as a Steam code.

To access this I had to transfer my game to Steam by getting the original and Horizons steam code from Steam and then add the Odyessey DLC code. All good and I can run the game from the launcher.

It takes me to the start screen with my Fed Corvette and 4 billion CR showing. I press start and it starts a new Odyessey game with 0 CR, I'm on foot.

Is this just the training bit and when I finish this will I still have all my ships and credits or am I starting from 0CR? I'm worried about loosing all my past progress.

I did pretty much the same thing as you except that my Horizons was already on Steam to start with. Got dumped into the on-foot scenario, panicked a bit, did a bit of googling and discovered that it is just the Odyssey tutorial mission. You can complete it or do as I did and exit straight out of it, at which point you will be right where you left off in Horizons.

I ended up doing exactly the same as you and it took me back to where I was in Horizons glad to say.

Welcome to the Odyssey bug-fest, good that your an Horizons vet, you have now completed your materials grind basic training and have started your apprenticeship for Level 2 :p

All jokes aside you'll find some fun (if a bit buggy) content in Odyssey and bio scanning when you get the hang of it can be quite picturesque and lucrative (especially if you manage to be first discoverer), the mat grind for suits and engineer unlocks is definitely a level up from Horizons IMHO (even post relaxing of requirements) and it'll be a nice change to finally be able to stretch your legs and walk off the cockpit chair butt-rash as it were - Just wish there was actually some new Odyssey content (not minor re-packaged original Odyssey content) with the latest Thargoid War update for the Odyssey community...
